  1. Hola VTWoods:

I wish you good luck and many hours of fun, I'm about to finish my Pride of Baltimore II and almost took me a year in its construction. As always, there are unclear details in the plans and some materials are not very good (such as wood and rigging material, but all this awakens the imagination and makes the construction more fun.

If I can help do not hesitate to ask.  There are many people who are knowledgeable and eager to collaborate in this forum.

    Saludos Karl

  2. Hola:

Almost reaching the end. Now I've put the running and stern lights, the lifeline stanchions and railing as well as the small swivel guns and a pair of life rings.

What remains to finish is the construction of the cradle or building-ways, and finally a case to protect the model.

  3. After some vacations I continued with my boat work. Now with the foremast rigging. It was actually slower than I thought at first because of the large amount of rigging to place (and I did not put the sails on!!).

To give a different and more interesting touch tilt the yards a bit. This also allows me to make the case a bit narrower.  Here some pic´s:

  4. Hola Bob:

The shield and lettering was a great challenge but as you can see in my post #23 (Oct 21, 2016) I resolved it making the lettering with the computer and with a little try and error obtained the correct size. For the shield I got a drawing from google, print it to the correct size and glue it over a previously made wood piece: I attached you this drawing:

  5. Hola Don:

Now I am working slower due to the weather (here we have some days over 110 F outdoors) and we will also leave on vacation for a few weeks so the launch of the POB will take some time.
What will be the next project? I have to think about it because the commander tells me that there is no space in the house for more boats. I think I'll have to change my hobby, hahaha.

  6. Hola a todos:

After almost a month I have new updates.  One important decision was to put or not to put the sails, and finally I decided that this will be my first model ship with no sails and present the ship as if it were on a dry dock or cradle.  However I decided to place most of the rigging except those that hold the sails. Here you can see the rigging of the main mast finished.

    Next step, the Foremast rigging.

  7. Hola Michael:

Sure, if I can help you in anyway don´t doubt to ask.  All the stitches were made with my wife sewing machine after marking previously the lines.  About your specific question, for that sail i didn´t put any reinforcement, but I put it at the foremast lower sail. (picture) I took several pictures of the sails and don´t remember which of them I sent it to you, please tell me  if you want any in particular.

    Saludos, Karl
