Good evening everyone To cut a long story short, the Victory is on hold again, I have permission to bring plastic into the conservatory, so the Bismarck has come out of mothballing. basicly the victory is to big a to bring into the house and as I am into the rigging stage, i dont want the new puppy helping me, -

Hi Augie the futtock shrouds don't seam to hang right, like they are out of scale, I am using the smaller dia thread as per the instructions for the shrouds but used the same scale as the mains for the ratlines, the thinner stuff made the problem worse

A nice warm sunny summers day here 21 degs - time to take her back into the garden to show the runner beans off and plonk a badly build model in front, on top of a disguised dustbin seriously though, im am pleased the way she is progressing, the futtock shroulds could have been better- but it is not impossible to redo them if needs be. have now started the foremast upper shrouds - and learning about sister blocks

My reasoning for the air brush / rattle can was the large amount of black, not just the bands but from the lower wales to the coppering and the gunport lids as well

I had to do mine again as i used the plans as a measure - but they are 2D noit 3d so the distances were wrong - in the end - i went mainly by photo's as a point of reference

Daniel Good morning, do you have plans for a section build like stay the stern section of a 1/72 ship lets say (for example) the Victory from the mizzen mast to rudder

Number one and two shrouds must have not been fully secured to the stave - and moved/pulled forward, as they were not in their natural position

Mark I released Number one shroud from the futtock stave, and it now lines up a lot better, as to weather it is good enough, I will wait to see how the Port side goes

Mark looking at the pictures i think I may have created my own problem with Number 1 shroud where it is secured to the futtock stave, as much as I regret it - I may have to go and start all over again and produce new shrouds and then possibly go for black ratlines rather than the white (stained grey) lol - i might as well then paint the yellow bands pink at the same time

it wasn't until I took the phot's tonight that i realised how much number 1 shroud has been pulled in - i dont quite know how im going to sort that out without redoing them - lol which might end end replacing the whole lot - oh well

Dominic - i cut mine to get into position but more like a zig zag to get in place -lol im kind of happy the we are all having the same issue, or all doing it very wrong

Dominic i removed a couple mm from the bottom of my inner bulkheads,

well - this is something new for me, a mid week update allays learning something new- but now realise that the ratlines don't go across all the shrouds at the top and bottom, havnt found out why though yet anyway, nothing is fixed yet using the caldercraft natural line 0.1mm dyed with a clay wash and then waxed experimenting with coloured card to see if I can get a better photo
