Nothing above the deck level is fixed at all, it was just easier to put in on to keep it safe, as for the pre shading, im also worried,(lol) it does look a bit strong, i quess i will find out soon,
-
my waterline still needs a bit of work, as i have a white gap towards the stern, more red paint on its way, oh and my first time/attempt at pre shading teacher says " could do better"
-
Thankyou i have now done the waterline in a dark grey (Nato black) looks ok, but should be even better after some more bottom red arrives
-
today was a make or break day for me, learn how to use the airbrush, i was never going to do upto the waterline by brush, in the end it was ok, usung neat lifecolour paints and a pressure of about 15, im quite pleased with in, next above the waterline, perhaps next weekend, but i have another kit on its way, it is not a ship

no Andy i had not considered that, this being a water/clay wash did have its problems though, as it had to be dapped with paper to remove any surplus as it got under the deck and lifted in places, but when i checked last night it had all dried ok,
-
being a water based wash - i can still adjust it should i so wish, but i have to be carerful that it does not make the deck to wet and get under the adhesive
-
Good evening everyone Some Bismarck done today, the deck is on, and a lot easier to fit than anticipated, i then toned it down with a Flory dark dirt wash, im happy with the results, please let me know what you think

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
