NJ State Police and NYPD sent rescue teams to the Asheville area, too. They have heavy rescue skills for extracting folks from under wreckage.

Thank you all for the kind thoughts and wishes. It’s been a grim week but I have to remind myself that I am fine and the cats are safe. Everything else is just money. So many people have been hit much harder. There is a house among others in the next development that has nothing standing a few feet above the foundation.

might be a little while before I pick up the paint brush

Glad to read you are safe, Alan. There are a few of us here wandering about is varying states of shock, thanks to the two hurricanes. Good luck rebuilding your area.

Thanks Ken

i think it’s going to be slow. Reputable contractors are snowed with work and supplies like roof tiles are in high demand. Hoping we don’t get a lot of heavy rains in the near future

Glad to hear from you Alan.  Take the time you need to sort things out.  There is no rush or pressure from our end.  Crap happens and all we can do is roll with the punches and recover.

Evening   all,   I have been having a long  think about my build, and have decided  to see if I can let it go  (the whole package - whats been built so far - all my figures  and  any un made  figures)  just have no clue how much to ask for it  as well  established  WIP.

We have been thinking about  trying to move at some point  and  it would be good  to have my models  re housed  before we move.

that would be a real shame, after all the hard work and research you have put into this project, is there no way it could go into storage/ friends house/ garage? until you are settled in

Its all part of Kev's journey, bit like going to the dark side, but with the lights on

To be honest the  cash from it would go towards the moving costs.

Sad to hear but can sympathise, had a house fire and although all ok now made me rethink all the possessions and unfinished projects, gave away a lot and kept just a handful and trying to get the motivation back.  Hope all goes well.

Thank you kindly,  yes  its made me think - that  just holding onto them  for the sake of it is  pointless.

Selfishly I will be very sorry to lose the LHS updates which were always hugely enjoyable and a great demonstration of painting skills. It’s a tough decision to pass the models on but if they provide joy and enjoyment to someone else and you are able to realize some money from them at a tight time then you are making a sensible decision. I hope you find some good buyers.

You will always have the skills and new kits will always be available.

Good luck with it

Alan

Just a small update on my dio  -  It  was  (was)  sold  pending  being collected and  pay,  but after a couple of weeks  of back and forward phone calls, the person  txtd me  and  bowed out.

Amazingly  difficult to sell  by the look of it  but guess  thats  for  several factors  -  collection  needed as it can not be posted,  its  part built  and  many  folks  like to  build their own from scratch  - always the same when you  dont want to sit on a sale waiting  months or even years.

That’s very disappointing after being so close to a sale. Shame, it would be great to see it going to a good home- and some cash flowing the other way
