tonight i ll attempt to put the stairs back in and finish the railings and tidy them up wiht some paint where necessary

 

oh also forgot to mention that i lost one of the curved railing tops . lucily i had teh original broken waqve catcher which was just wide enough to get the correct curve

by all means......make sure all of the lights work.   then.........slow down.......take one thing at a time and correct the problems.  I have the same problem........working on more than one aspect at a time.  somethimes it works for me.......sometimes it don't.  you'll sort it out,  I'm sure of it

In spite of setbacks, she looks good.  Those little details keep adding to the appearance.   I hope the infection gets cleared up and no more antibiotics will be needed.  Nasty side effects with most of them it seems.

I have finally been able to put the stairs back in . now I just need to reattach the railing there

 

also added the pennant mast partner (although it split in two when I was shaping it ) and the bell outside the steering cabin

Whilst putting the suspension together for the taxi a couple of laser pieces broke and being highly shaped I am hoping the CA glue works well

So I know how you feel 

It is very aggravating

 

I have sent off for the Endeavour though so hopefully I will soon be back here with a ship build

Just to make you feel good Adriaan I have made a massive and stupid mistake with the taxi

I have used the suspension the wrong way round and it is irrepairable

I have had to ask OcCre to send me one of the laser cut sheets

Luckily all the parts are on the one sheet

I feel a total idiot

It was such a stupid mistake caused I think by having the carriage upside down and looking at the photo the other way

It wasn't until I put the wheels on that I realised what I had done

What a prat

MIck sorry to hear you ran into some trouble. i have heard this happen before where you have to turn the model upside down and you do it the wrong way (i think i even saw Danny do that on his HMS vulture). its anoying but everythign is fixable : loosen a bit of glue or order/scratch build a new part and its fixed

I have contacted OcCre and they are sending the sheet and small metal parts I need with the Endeavour

They are such a great firm and will not accept payment even though it was my fault

 

I am really looking forward to getting the Endeavour and seeing if she is much different from the other kits on here

She seems a popular build especially as a first build

 

I will be very interested hearing from you to see if any major work needs to be done to her to make her more realistic

They do say that OcCre are generally the most accurate with their kits

We shall see

The kit is arriving Tuesday

I will be contacting OcCre this week as I don't seem to get anywhere with the hobbystore  for the missing parts on my Gorch Fock

 

I have finally finished railings and triangles on the second deck (except the 2 railings near the back smoke stacks that is)

also touched up some with paint will check tomorrow to make sure I haven't missed anything

 

I did a final test on all lights before I fitted the parts in and success all are working

 

with the main wiring module in place I tested the lower 2 decks lights sorry for the blurry pics

 

here a view of the main part of the wiring  the 3 unattached wires are for the upper lights. still not sure on how I will hook them up but got some ideas that I will have to try out

 

overall a very rewarding day
