Adriaan,

Such a shame Adriaan

I do hope you will be able to uncover them before too much time has passed

I have cleaned up my computer table/work bench but my reason was it was an absolute mess and covered in rubbish  :P

Get well soon though Adriaan, we want you back  :)

thank you Mick, Robbyn, Randy and Popeye

haven't been on much this week

yesterday I finally had the last of the iv antibiotics . my foot and leg now look almost normal again (except the spots off the original infection)

I will still need oral antibiotics for about a week just to make sure it doesn't come back

the rash and itches is also much better

tomorrow I am hoping to have the all clear to go back to work

since I still can't do any building I have resorted to some other kind of building to keep me from being bored :

a 3000 pieces puzzle of an underwater scene (there where none with any ships :( )

Hi Randy I must admit 3000 pieces is a lot ( have only done 1000 pieces before) but at least it will keep me busy for awhile.

for building that probably will still be weeks before I know.

whatever the verdict I will at least finish this build

That's very good news Adriaan.  Continue to take care yourself and when you can resume building, we'll look forward to that.

Hi Adriaan,

If you can found him over there ,then just buy it !

It's a jigsaw of Jan van Haasteren.

Unbelievable details and he has a lot more of those things.

Let me know if you can find one...

Hi Adriaan

I hope you are feeling a lot better  :)

I would like to say I come back from my holiday rested and refreshed

But

I did too much fishing and I am an aching wreck  :piratetongueor4:

Still, I really enjoyed it so that's the main thing

Just may take a week or two to get fit again  :D

Keep it up  :10_1_10:

Hello Adriaan

I just dropped in to see how your progressing health-wise. I'm so glad to hear your back to work. As a person that lost that priveledge a 1/2 decade ago, I understand the importance of that step back. I'm so glad things are better and hope they only keep improving, to the point of getting back to building

After all we still need to see you build the Fock (glad to see you got parts finally) and the Endeavour.

Be good and if you can't be good at least be good at it! :dancetl6:

I hope you get some good news  :)

Any idea when you will drag yourself away from those jigsaws and get back to building ????

I am plankety planing on the hull and trying to get it right

Not the easiest thing in the world after you have been forcing the top 12 or so rows to follow a line  :piratetongueor4:

Thanks Mick  and yes I have some good news

I saw the skin specialist today and he was happy with the progress. he figures about 2 more weeks before all the red itchy skin bits are gone and about 1 or 2 more months before my skin is back to its normal self

to find out what caused the allergic reaction he suggested trying out a bit myself by trying out one by one instead of doing an expensive test which also meant no showering for almost a week

when he said to try and apply one of the things I come in contact with on my lower i was thinking how it would look painted in red ochre or covered in white glue ^_^

anyway I have decided to wait till itchy skin is gone and then slowly try doing some building work but use some gloves and be more mindful and make sure to wash of any paints glue or whatever

on the other hand I have some news I am not to pleased about. the specialist says that the underlying issue why everything happened is bad blood circulation in my lower legs. I will need to wear special stockings to improve this which will be uncomfortable (certainly in the beginning) and most likely for the rest of my life :(

glad to hear you may be heading in the right direction.  be aware that your alergy may even be a certain soap your using.....there will be a lot of trial and error.   was this diagnosis an observation that your legs were swollen?  are they flaking,  cracking  {of course you scratch, causing the area to bleed}?  I'm rather sheepish to go on........but......are you over weight?  I ask this because my Aunt had a similar problem.......she was regimented in her life style........no excercise at all!  she would never leave the house,  and her foot steps could be counted less than 100.  she would walk from her bedroom......to the kitchen table...that's it.........then perhaps fifteen or so steps to the bathroom.  both ankles were greatly ammassed and were quite disgusting.......she was like this for many years.  when the EMT's and fire dept.  took her down fron the second floor apartment,  she weighed in excess of over 400 pounds.  I won't describe their diagnosis

I know you don't fit this bill.........you work,  you get out and do stuff around the yard........your an active person.  I hate the word obese,  it's a wrong lable for a lot of people.........at my last physical....'I'  was even called obese!   I was 207 pounds....and according to the doctor, for my frame,  I should be around 190.   my normal weight in my younger days was about 185....and I hovered there while eating everything I could get my hands on......made no difference.   now that I'm getting older,  I guess I have to watch it a bit closer.

I'm going to be 57 at the end of this month.......and I don't even have a scale in the house......I'm looking to get one,  because I have a feeling that I gained a bit more since the physical.   I do three things........I cut my portions,  cut my salt intake,  and don't overdo it with the water.  water and salt go hand in hand......together they equal water retention.  a large percentage of our day is spent standing up, you can see where I'm going with this........    at the end of the day......my calfs feel very tight......to the point where they tend to ache.  I've had surgery on my left knee........the right one is starting to go south,  and I have reocurring gout in my left ankle.   to me,  it's all wear and tear.....and my work habits aren't helping the situation.   I should slow down........but I can't....it's not in me.

I'm sorry if I bored you with my ramblings.......I'm sure your doctor mentioned some of this.......they always do.  my wife bought me an ankle brace {like an ace bandage looking thing}........but I ain't wearing that......what a bother!

I yam wot I yam!
