model of an old-fashioned telephone

Recommended Posts

It's one of the things I've done in the last 20 years. Inside is a miniature music box made in Japan. Shake the handle, tighten the inner spring and make a wonderful singing sound. In the Internet search of the same picture, I calculated the approximate size of the production.

Wow.  Beautiful work and I didn't realize how small "miniature" was until that last photo.

Wow, this to me is incredible. From the selection of wood to shiny brass, even the fact that it really plays a little time when wound up is amazing, what kind of wood did you use? It looks maybe a burl? The veneer you used on the body must be paper thin, I count potentially 5 different wood species? Incredible work as always.

I picked four different kinds of wood. Respectively are: Camphor, Red Sandalwood, Burmese Pear, Red Sandalwood Rhinoceros Horn (called in China) .
