So this is as far as I can go before starting to throw this but together. I need to paint the interior of the hangar, mask it off then stick to together. 

the bow supports are three little strips of PE. No other details will be added until the deck is painted

So I painted the interior of the hangar, now I’m in the process of sticking it all together. Painful gaps .

You seem to deal with those painful gaps quite well, mate. Besides ... there is always putty

There are lots and lots of gaps. The plastic does not quite align. Now I’ve gotten all the main bits of PE down, I can fill cracks and gaps, smooth it off and fix the bits that invariably fall off, give it a primer coat then make a start on proper painting

Already it looks smooth like a baby's bum! Admitted, a very violent baby.

What putty did you use?

Lower hull pretty much done. I’ll eventually give it a bit more salt streaks once the hull is completely done. I gave it a wash of enamel green slime

Just a technical question on the ship: there are two tubes/lines/cables (?) around the hull, what are those?

Post WWII which excludes V&W class destroyers for the Prairie and Masker systems, I cannot imagine that system being used on them.  Furthermore, it would have been mentioned in J. Edgar's "British Destroyers", I presume - I can always be wrong. Although, I haven't noticed it at all while reading on the V&W and Tribal class destroyers.

I thought that I may as well keep buildings as opposed to painting yet. Lots of PE. The main mast is going to be stripped again as it’s not aligned properly 

 

I did manage to buy a VLS for the fore deck from a discontinued set second hand
