There are also build logs that will be very beneficial in your build of these models. I would also recommend the half hull planking project offered by Nautical Research Guild. Planking a hull correctly can be a tricky business and it's a skill that will serve you well in future builds. That said, welcome aboard! Some of the skills will translate and others will not but as everyone else has suggested look around, pick something small to start with and you will do great.
