Ever thought about making a naval battle-ground diorama ??

I figure you're more than half-way there.

(Personally, I think it is sad that someone could take all that hard-work, put it in the back of a shed and pile junk on top of it.)

Thanks all for your replies. The 4th one is a half finished model of the Victory,by De Prado and by the looks of it so is the BOUNTY. The other one looks to be early 1800s American,lawrence/Niagra?

Thanks again

Holy Mackerel!! I just tuned in to your 'restoration"--> WOW!!!

On Antiques Roadshow they call all of that stuff 'patina'. I'm sorry to tell you shipmate- you just devalued the models by at least half.

    :pirate41:

GOOD LUCK WITH IT ALL
Under any circumstances you should enjoy a genuine sense of accomplishment when you're done!!!

From those pictures those models actually look like they were quite well made and fine ships once. The craftsmanship of the hulls looks good. Once cleaned and rigged I think they will be very nice. That said looks like a fun challange to tackle.

Thank  you for your time every one.

Hi Steve

It took me all off half an hour to get that look. When I was in the history business we would have called it distressed.Anyway thanks for your good wishes.

Hi Blue Pilot.

Woodwork wise they are well made,it,s the rigging that,s in a mess pairs not going to the same belay on the opposite side some are missing, and large amount of supper glue on every thing.

Tony

All the Bowsprite rigging is in place although its not tied off yet as I have not finished staining them to bring them in line with the original.

I have finished the running rigging on the bowsprit,.and have started on the foremast. So far I have had to replace some stays,

because he had tied them round the yard rigging, the shrouds need tightening and the ratlines need replacing.Other than that every thing is ok?
