HMS PEGASUS by mihaimih - FINISHED - Victory Models

Recommended Posts

Welcome to my new build log the HMS Pegasus. :piratebo5:

After some very nice builds that i've seen here, I decided to have a go and I hope I will not mess up a very nice ship...

With this ship I also changed the manufacturer, from Mamoli to Victory Models and it looks like I made a good choice. I opened the box and the stuff inside looks like good quality, hope that will also be the feeling after i'll start building.

Hope you will enjoy the build and as always all advice and comments are welcome :D

For the moment a quick look to the items inside the box

Hi Mihai

It is a very nice ship and a great model. I look forward to your progress. I'm a slow builder of the same kit in the HMS Fly version and I'm sure we can share tips as all builders here do.

Hi Alistair,

I saw your progress on the Fly and it's a great job so far. Love the deck planking, looks good and clean. For my ship id decided to plank the hull first and after that the deck. Will see how will turn up....

Hi all,

I decided to go with the hull planking first and after start the deck planking.

With the first layer I kept it simple, nothing fancy, only a good support for the second one. I forgot to take some pictures with the first stages , I have only the finished product, first planking sanded down and ready for second layer.

Looking good and the jigsaw gun port ply seems to fit very well as this can be difficult, well done.

Hello Ray, thank you for the consideration, although i can't take all the credit for the jigsaw fitting, as far as I know the later kits have been improved a little bit. In my case i didn't have too much trouble fitting it.

Hi all,

this is a small update of my second planking, I tried to make it as symmetric as possible. Unfortunately it's the last update I can make for the next 3 months or so due to work related issues :(   But I will continue to watch the progress on MSW

Cheers,

Mihai

Hello Mihai -- It seems that just as I found your log, you've had to take a break from it.  Believe me, I understand how work can interrupt modelling.  I'll be looking forward to your progress.

And I also want to say that your planking looks nice and neat.

Hi there Carl,

The progress is really slow lately. I finished the second planking and started with the copper plating, but didn't find the time to add some photos...

Hope I will have something to show soon :D

Hello my dear colleagues ,

After a long absence I finally made some progress on my Pegasus. I finished the second planking and the copper sheathing and installed the ornaments. I also changed the color pattern a bit, hope all of you will like it

Hello mihai

Wonderful progress. All crisp and clean and excellent hull planking, keep up this good work and enjoy your build. DAVID

Hi David,

Thank you, the planking took some time, lots of sanding and I ended up covering it with the copper plates and black paint , but I'm also happy with the result
