Hi Jerry, Thanks for the offer, I am sure I will take you up on it. I am a few years away from my own Victory. I am building the Snake and hope to build the Diana before going on to the Victory. In the mean time I am monitoring all of the Victory builds and taking lots of notes. Mort

No problem Jerry. I appreciate the picture. I am going to need that tool when I build my Victory and your pix and Sids will be a great help when the time comes to make my own. Thanks, Mort

You are doing a great job. Keep those updates coming. One question, what size were the fish hooks you used for the gunports? Thanks, Mort

I would think that part of the grating would have to be removed if you want to use the kit supplied rope which is what I would think they did back in the day. Mort

Hi Jaison, Fast question, did you use the wheel supplied with the kit? Your wheel looks a lot better than the kits. Thanks, Mort

Hi Ray, Great idea the way you handled the transom it was ingenious. I was curious to see your solution to that issue. I would think you will not have a problem with it. Sorry about the knee problems. Hope the new pain medication works. Keep up the great work my friend, Mort

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
