Hi Christian, Love your build. The stern looks great as does the rest of the hull. Great idea to include the flag lockers. Have you thought about including swivel guns on the hull or the tops? Check pages 76-79 of "The Sailing Frigate" by Robert Gardener. There is a side view of the figureheads of 2 Artois Class frigates in the NMM one of which is believed to be the Diana. One figurehead looks partially painted - the top half of the Diana's - the other seems to be unpainted. All of the pictures are in color. Keep up the great work, Mort

Hi Jason, Ment to ask, did you use a smaller block since you used smaller line to rig the tiller? Mort

Hi Jerry, Thanks for the offer, I am sure I will take you up on it. I am a few years away from my own Victory. I am building the Snake and hope to build the Diana before going on to the Victory. In the mean time I am monitoring all of the Victory builds and taking lots of notes. Mort

No problem Jerry. I appreciate the picture. I am going to need that tool when I build my Victory and your pix and Sids will be a great help when the time comes to make my own. Thanks, Mort

You are doing a great job. Keep those updates coming. One question, what size were the fish hooks you used for the gunports? Thanks, Mort

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
