Ted, try dipping the PE into white vinegar. It's a weak acid and makes a decent etchant for cleaning the PE. Rinse with water and let dry.

Harry, hope you have a small powered drill. Doing it with just a pin vice may be excruciating.

I'm in to watch. Too many cars and Model RR operating sessions right now. And Spring is springing right now; a tad early for the Smokies. I had the pleasure of flying in the first Red Flag exercise with the RAF Buccs back in I think '78. Very professional bunch in the Flag Ex, but a riot after-hours.😄 And they seemed as big a jet as my Phantom.

The only break is your sprue attach points are on the sides, away from the linkages. -

I flew missions with the Buccs of RAF Sqdn 208 at a Red Flag, Nellis AFB, NV, in 1978 or so. I think a few were painted for desert ops, the rest in the gray and green look. They looked like they were flying right on top of their shadows across the desert. We escorted them to a range up in Utah. Tried to follow them through a mountain range but had to climb up to cross the ridges but still below the ridge tops. Very impressive flying. Always enjoyed working with the RAF; always professional on the job, fun off the flight line. 👍😄 -
This dio is shaping up nicely. Good work with the brick and stone. I have a kit of Satriale's Pork Store, from the Sopranos TV show some years back. The street face of the building has a coloration like your sea wall, without the heavy weathering. I plan on copying your colors for the store. 👍 The beginnings of your track work look good. Ought to beat up the ties before you lay your rails. Most sidings aren't very pristine and overgrown with weeds.

Tine to break out your favorite filler. Are these styrene or resin? -
Get the Gator Grip glue by emailing your request to the address on this website: https://gatorsmodelstudio.com/gators-grip-hobby-glue/ I don't think he sells thru retailers. But I use this, too.

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
