  1. Thanks so much Dave, Denis and the "likes". Sorry you you asked that Dave. I didn't intend to, but now you've made me think.(still probably won't) Bob
  2. I built this some years ago. It's a fine kit and you'll enjoy the build. I'm looking forward to following. Bob
  3. Great job David. I can only echo what you say about the kit and plans. Frustrating, but you've overcome it beautifully. Bob
  4. While rigging the guns, I was also making up the gunport lids. I decided to finish and mount them at this point. The lids were made in two layers: laser cut pieces from the kit that were painted red and boxwood strip planking, cut to fit. The hinges are black paper. Blackened eyebolts were bent over and inserted into drilled holes. The lids at the aft end, where there are no guns, were mounted in the closed position. The next work will be on the head. Bob
  5. Thanks so much Thomas. Funny that you should think that I was working fast. It seemed to me that it was taking forever. Bob
  6. All of the guns are now installed and rigged. A big "thank you" to RustyJ for graciously providing me with the 1/8" Syren blocks that I needed to complete the gun rigging (they were out of stock). This is a perfect example of the generosity and friendship that make this site the great place that it is. Bob
  7. Thanks so much Rich, Elijah and the "likes". Rich, get out your anti-boredom pills. The repetition of doing the guns, particularly the rigging, is almost mind numbing. Elijah, were it not for physical issues that I was going through at the time that I did the coppering, I would probably have done the nailing in some fashion. I'm now just as happy that I didn't. Bob
  8. A master work Albert. The quality of your work is beyond words. Bob
  9. Al, I think it would be better and certainly easier to work on the interior after the hull is free of the jig. The hull should be quite strong with all of the planking on. I didn't even fair the interior until after I cut it loose. There was no problem. Bob
