  1. Thanks Guy, very little progress on CS, lost interest in it for awhile, moving on to other builds and a lot of naval book reading in the meantime. Coming to an end of my HMS Fly build (incomplete build log) but I'm happy with the result. I'll either move back to the CS or take a shot at my Blue Jacket Jefferson Davis which I have framed. I guess I have started too many builds and just have to get my act straight.
  2. Looks great...needs some sawdust and it would be complete. Welcome back.
  3. Welcome to MSW... I suggest you read this MSW post if you haven't done so. New to ship modelling? But what do you build first? By MSW, July 19
  4. John, it does look like the same kit...at least based on CZ's pictures and the box art. Not only would he get the plans but any parts he will need for the restoration. Could be a great life saver down the line.
  5. good beginers guide you may want to pick up a copy of this, good beginers guide. I've had mine for over 20 years.
  6. Hi there, This may help, Model expo does sell a model of the CW Morgan probably a different scale. Being this is all new to you consider this approach. On their web site they post the instructions for the model. The instructions will give you an idea of what goes where and in what order. So you will have some understanding of your undertaking, the link is http://modelexpo-online.com/model-shipways-charles-morgan-whale-bark-1-64-scl
  7. Thanks for all the likes...this should be fun.
  8. What's in the box...All instructions are in Japanese so a good translator app is necessary. However, with the multiple pictures, instruction in most cases will be self explanatory. Laser and strip materials are all packed in well marked sleeves as to, part number, name, dimensions and quantity of each. In my experience with the Hacchoro model, there is very little extra strip material, I would imagine the same is true here. Measure twice cut once, for sure. As far as I can tell it looks like the outer hull is done on a skeleton frame, it is removed, and then the inside framing is done. From what I have read the ancient Egyptians built in that fashion. Sorry the files did not load in order. And there was a surprise gift enclosed as well, nice touch.
