  1. Chris, cool vid.
  2. Paul, you might try Cornwall Model Boats in the UK.
  3. Dave, welcome to MSW. When ready please start a build log where we can follow along.
  4. Steve, a big thumbs up on getting settled into your new digs. Again, congratulations.
  5. I use FolkArt acrylic craft paint, Vintage White # 515. It's not a brilliant white and has very little yellow pigment.
  6. Speaking of seals, I found this site interesting. https://www.cs.cmu.edu/afs/cs/Web/People/lkb/seals/aboutseals.5.html
  7. Bob, you really do hate polyurethane don't you.
  8. Keith, it all makes perfect sense and I think you're spot on regarding the materials.
  9. Sorry, I got to this party a bit late. A thumbs up to all post back to the beginning.
  10. What a lovely ship, neat and tidy work, Jorge.
  11. Dang supply chain problems, hope that it gets to you soon. She's really coming along nicely, Phil, well done.
  12. Jason, welcome to MSW. Please share your Nuestra Señora de las Mercedes build in a build log.
  13. Jorge, welcome to MSW. I look forward to seeing your build log.
  14. Dave, good on ya and God bless.
  15. Yes I do, Siggi, but my wife is usually too busy tending to other things.
  16. Painting a boat or ship's interior white or a light color would have been beneficial for night vision and the ability to see items within. If a boat was to be used only during daylight hours, interior color wouldn't have mattered.
  17. Siggi, I wish my carpenters and painters were as talented as yours, they do beautiful work.
  18. Brian, a thought. If you painted the interior of the ship's boat white (or light color) the darker oars would stand out. In the photo I just posted, the interior appears to be white.
  19. Kramer, the hull's second planking turned out nice, great job!
  20. Lynn, go to the home page and in the search box enter 'marking the waterline'. There are several builds where folks show how they marked the waterline. Nice to see you making good progress. And you're right, I don't have a clue how I found the time to hold down a full time job. To recruit new employees Walmart is offering a $5,000.00 sign up bonus. I thought about it for a split second but I figured the 'nap' clause I'd have to negotiate in my contract wouldn't be worth the trouble.
  21. Barry, welcome to MSW. I look forward to seeing your work.
