  1. Glen, my vote is the green vertical slit eyes bottom far right or the yellower pair to the top left of first choice. This image came up after searching Google for 'Kraken eyes'
  2. Jim, welcome to MSW. Glad to have you aboard.
  3. Apprentices aboard the USS Tennessee ca. 1880. The youngest looking lad appears to be 14, give or take.
  4. Milo, while this is a Billings plan it should give you a good guide. https://www.billingboats.com/components/com_redshop/assets/document/extrafields/1582675905_1485165543-bb564-cutty-sark-main-plan.pdf
  5. We're pretty close as we live in Grass Lake. Would love to find at least four of us within a twenty mile radius to explore starting a club.
  6. Don, do you live in Michigan? If so, where? Nothing more than trying to establish how many of us Michiganders there are here on MSW and if there are enough of us in a particular area to start a club. Thank you.........Keith
  7. Like Roger, I thought I remembered a model in the sales photos in the link Tom posted but after carefully going through them I don't see a model. I seem to remember a model so clearly I thought maybe it was another yacht so I combed through photos and the only thing close to a model I came across was the inlaid table in Eva. Damn, I hate getting old.
  8. Stephan, welcome to MSW. Glad to have you aboard.
  9. Todd, welcome to MSW. Glad to have you aboard.
  10. Ras, congratulations on completing your great build.
  11. I'm a bit late to the party but I managed to get a seat. Interesting subject, Javelin. Its tasking shape nicely.
  12. Tom, due to the size and the required repetitive profile I would order the rail stanchions. I bought mine (brass) from Cornwall Model Boats in the UK but they have a $50.00 order min. I searched around to see what else was available on this side of the pond. I bet if you go through our approved vendor list and check for rail stanchions you'll find ample availability. What is the length you need? https://www.castyouranchorhobby.com/Category/stanchions_c https://www.historicships.com/product/walnut-stanchions-6mm/
  13. Your Germania comes as close to perfect as any model i've had the pleasure to view. Keith, thank you for allowing us to journey with you on your build. I've enjoyed every post and have been inspired by all. Congratulations!
  14. Scotty, Scotty. You missed a golden opportunity with SWMBO. You should have told her the holder required a special drill and it cost twenty bucks. "I'm sorry honey, I know I should have said something before I spent the twenty dollars but I was anxious to get the job done. Promise, it won't happen again" Going that route you'd be ahead $20.00 with the accounting department.
  15. Tom, the ladder and door look great. I think another ladder is required not only for symmetry but mainly to replicate the orderly flow of foot traffic especially during the heat of battle. To my way of thinking it seems only commonsense that any elevation requiring a ladder to gain access would have been built in pairs, one for up and one for down.
  16. Jose, welcome to MSW. Glad to have you aboard.
  17. Measure length for blocks and diameter for deadeyes.
  18. Nick, did you watch the Tally Ho YouTube videos I posted yesterday?
  19. CH, this is video is of the Tally Ho getting her deck planks. Watching Leo and crew work on all aspects of rebuilding the Tally Ho is instructional.
