  1. I think OC knows how to do a soft blend type line or EG. Something to do with blu-tak Coming on nice Mike, I do like the grey colour!
  2. Looking good, also liking the hydra type beast attacking the wall, I think the guards are out of their depth!😁
  3. I'll get you Butler!! A great iconic bus! Nice job🙂
  4. Even the tractor has out there style 🙂
  5. But if it wasn't a bit out there it wouldn't be Lamborghini 😉
  6. Thank you for your encouraging words Derek, I have had a look on Ebay and have bid on a 36inch folding rule. If successful I'm giving blocks a go. With Syren not making rope any more and reading the articles on rope making, I'm definitely thinking of making my own ropes but will have to wait till I can get Chuck's rope rocket, but that wont be until the rush for them has died down. I shall let you know how I get on with the block making 🙂 The deck has been repaired and it's nothing the mast ring won't hide😊
  7. Thanks to everyone for stopping by 😉 I decided to have a crack at making the deadeyes for the shrouds and mainstay, the wood is cheap pine dowels from my local DIY store, therefore if I do use these on the ship they'll get painted These five took over 3 hours, but that includes all the unusable ones as well 😁 Only have another twelve to make. On the strength of this I may even attempt making the blocks too😏😬 Cheers Oh, also I've damaged the deck planking, as the drill bit snagged and jumped when enlarging the hole for the mast☹😩, I have to replace two pieces of deck plank and make a slightly larger ring for the foot of the mast, these things happen🙄
  8. Good news indeed!😄 Have fun and stay warm! Don't forget the photos 😉 Here is staying between 0°c and -2°c and that's kept me off work all week 😶
  9. Very very nice Craig, amazing build!🙂
  10. Superb! The realism is astounding, excellent workmanship 😃
  11. Another day off and some more time in the shipyard. Stanchions made, glued and painted. The rope rail is just dry fitted at the moment. I did make a boo-boo and put stanchions round to the prow until I realised that it would get in the way of the swivel posts and timber heads It was soon rectified 😏 Not sure wether to tie off the rail rope to the swivel post or terminate it at the stanchion 🤔 Just have a rail to put in at the poop deck area and then get the black paint out. Thanks for your patience and interest. Cheers. Btw Jack, a tad colder today -3 thru the day and got down to -7°c at night. Somewhere in Scotland dropped to -18°c or thereabouts. Still like a balmy spring day to you but bloody cold to me🥶😂
  12. I miss being able to call in at Hobbycraft on the way home from work (non essential stores not being allowed to trade here in the UK) and it's not the same doing browsing online.
  13. We've just had a flurry, about 2mm, looks just like semolina scattered around 😆
  14. That's making me shiver reading it🥶 Thank you, and stay warm yourself Jack 😉
  15. I'm impressed with your carving Eric, something I've never tried. Very nice work.
  16. Still off work due freezing temperatures, although to some -2 to -5°c is not cold 😁 So I've begun to make the rail posts, just 3 for now and will probably use 0.75mm rigging line for the rope rail. A test, I'm open to suggestions on this as I'm not really sure about it 🤔OMG this macro setting shows I need to tidy the painting up. The stanchions will also be either painted or blackened. Gratitude for stopping by and watching 😉 Cheers
  17. A little bit more done, the cap rails are painted and glued, I'm thinking of doing stanchions and rope as on HMC Alert. Finally have a acceptable ratchet for the windlass, just have to decide wether to go with one or two. After cutting the ratchet off and dry fitting to the windlass, I still haven't made my mind up. Thanks for looking in! Cheers
  18. She's progressing nicely EG, I'm also liking the impromptu history lessons along the way. Thank you my friend 🙂
  19. Well winter has come and low temperatures have stopped my going to work, so I'm doing a bit on the Cutter. Been making the cap rails from odd assortments of wood, which as they are going to be painted black, wood type doesn't matter. Lots of sanding, painting, sanding and painting again🙂 Also still wrestling with the ratchet part of the windlass, I'm on to #5 at the time of writing 😬. Thanks to everyone for continuing to follow and the likes. Cheers 😉👍
