  1. What did you do to make look better? whatever it was worked, it is great!!
  2. I also had problems getting on the forum 4 or 5 weeks back, that was in the early hours of the day, so it seems it's not confined to the US, but as EG said after a couple of hours everything is fine. This I did as I was always told if it don't work, switch it off and then switch it back on.
  3. I got to agree with @fnickand @Jack12477 it does look like metal! Good work! can't wait to see the completed plane👍👍
  4. Is yew one o' them seafaring gennelmen cos if yew is, there's a welcome at the Saucy Shrimp! Good ale and hot pies.
  5. I'm away for 5 minutes and you go and finish, turned out rather nice as well if a bit odd looking. Great job Denis. Edit: reminds me slightly of the tri-engine junkers with the prominent ribbing
  6. You've done yourself proud with those quarter badges, they look much, much better than the supplied castings. Just a thought, but would it be possible to etch the roof tile pattern onto the wood rather than make them as a separate piece or maybe use a modelling putty for them and also the other details?
  7. Keep the faith EG she looks alright! She will look like lightning when "plated"😁
  8. I had the exact same issues here and tweaked the frames to fit the plan then remade the top fillers, I just need to sand the pieces to fit.
  9. Very nice Tiger Mark, I really like the minimalist look it's got going on😄
  10. I'm inclined to agree with you both, as a child one of my favourite plastic airfix kits was Brunels SS Great Western the side wheel steamer with full rigging and went to Bristol to see SS Great Britain
  11. Yes yes yes, good authors all. And yes meanwhile on a sweltering summer afternoon in leafy SE England nothing is stirring??🍿🍿
  12. Alaskan yellow Cedar is apparently good for carving, I think Chuck has used it for that purpose, but I could be mistaken. He does stock it though, quite reasonably priced as well. (I'm not affiliated with Syren Ship Model Company) Just my two pennies worth.
  13. Don't be too hard on yourself OC, I think looks fantastic, very royal navy, wouldn't look out of place on HMS Illustrious. Edit: further research suggests that mk3 were on Hms Victorious and mk2 were on Illustrious
  14. 7 inches shy of 4ft, I think you need to find her a room of her own!😏 I thought Winchelsea was big at 38 inches and she's not going to be rigged.
  15. One of my favourite periods, if you haven't already read them I can recommend Bernard Cornwell's Sharpe series and C.S Forester's Death to the French and The Gun EG even subconsciously through novels I still struggle, I'm great with pointless info but for anything else I have to have in front of me
