Just putting the exhaust on makes it unmistakably a Spit!😃

If they come head on they won't see it til the last minute, as in the first photo it blends in and night on disappears 🤔

Looks really good, liking the fact you put in the garden for that extra impact!!😁😁👍

Where has this build been hiding over the last few days? I am beginning to think that the "All unread since last visit" button is not working right for me. Hope it keeps popping up so I can follow Ken. Looks like a potentially interesting build.
It's with being in the rafters, you can miss stuff😏

It's moving on 😊
Does the mock up make the gun rigging easier? I may have to borrow the idea for Triton and Winchelsea 😉👍

I have not decided yet on how I will display this when done. Maybe a diorama, but who knows. Anyway, the journey begins.

OMG!!!! how I missed this build is beyond me!!! I just spent the last 1and a half hours catching up on it. It is an absolute brilliant model. The figures just give it that extra zing. I'm just disgusted with myself that it has took me a year to find it. You've done yourself proud OC😃
Please forgive my lateness in coming to this log😟

Thanks OC. I think it will grow on me ( the last thing I want to do is to plank over it and cause more problems as with the deck height to everything else.) Besides, after all the deck furniture and cannons are in, the deck may not be that noticable. Lol.
Mark Frazier
I think maybe you are right, once everything is set on the deck and the masts and rigging is in place the deck will blend in.
IMO it looks fine as in reality it was a work space where everything happened and don't forget it was holystoned frequently.

I did follow Mark's log as well.
Those years I was too young to know anything about the world outside my garden and when those kind of events became of interest to me the world was if not altogether peaceful it was uneventful til '82 and the Falklands war. But to hear from someone who was part of "history" albeit recent makes it all the more interesting. So thankyou Lou and Mark 👍👍
PS your recollections are the real thing and not a filmmakers take on it.
