  1. Wonderful result, Pat. Hope to be able to do it as good, somewhere in the future, after a lot of practice
  2. You work behind the scenes ... I presume the revenue service would like to know about that ... Your fancy railings turned out quite fancy. I like the way it makes her look.
  3. You created a beautiful Chebeck from scratch Nils, She turned out quite graceful (but for the ruffians on board )
  4. If you find the smoke acceptable at normal viewing distance, then it is. I would give the bow wave a bit more pronuniation by adding some white. It looks like you have been a wee bit careful in applying it. Also, if you do, add a drop of very dark blue to it to make the colour more life like. Love the we it turned out so far mate. How's the planning on the Wipwatermolen goin'?
  5. Do you take orders? Marvelous propeller. Do you leave it blackened or will you give it another colour?
  6. You're getting excited Denis!! Proper state of mind ... I know you like it ... I know you wannit ... Do not badger the Admiral, it is indeed one of the silliest things to do ... instead of life getting in the way, you've got a whole new experience getting in the way Give my love to her for keeping you at least on something like a leash ... else we would be drowned by you build logs (the ones in progress ) Honestly, can't wait to see you get started on it. Very curious as to your "take" on it Not much done today, had a course at work, made the fore mast tonight, and repaired my rear chimney "piping". Yesterday eve I re-masked the hull. Will spray the red again with a slightly different red
  7. Sorry to hear about wife ... uhhh , excuse me, life getting in the way. Looks a very good .. double splicing ... should have known you come up with something like that
  8. Normally one would say bulkheads, but in this case ... these are reinforcements
  9. I like their products, but 1200/1300 ... I'll stick to 1:350 with an eye on 1:700 for a change once in a while
  10. Nice improvements RGL. The rear mast will be in the front, first of the three markers. I drilled out that one at a slight angle. What did you use for the masts?
  11. Danny, Have a look at RGL's builds too. You ask the questions we'll try to answer or steer you in the right direction ... Cheers
  12. I've looked plenty, video as well as build logs ... to me there is but one way: Do it. My only concern was whether it would stick (the PE) I find the larger area's to be the hardest. Those tiny parts ... you need to stick em on right since you do not have a lot of time to correct it, but it's fun once you get the hang of it
  13. Ken, ice cream is churning Danny, I'll try to keep me eyes open. What happened to the research, or is that the cleanin of the workbench ... my clening could be considered thus (oeps)
  14. I ordered a book on the v&w class destroyers, maybe it sheds some light on the matter, we'll know soon enough
  15. Hmmm, what a bummer, first show the goodies, and then take them away ... OC d'you have a spare hammock, might as well catch some zzzzzzz's
  16. Very hard not to with this kit. Did they have a very tight budget. The bollards ar impossible to remove, at least as 1 complete part. The masts and other thin parts really need care taking them of so you won't break them. Despite these little irregularities, it still is a nice kit, could do with some work for the price it is sold at.
  17. Honey Mustard chicken ... PM me the recipe, I'll try it on a small chicken Kind a silently motoring on (electric propulsion?) Quite the parts. I broke the bottom part of the rear pipe on the rear funnel, which will need replacing, and I need to replace the ladder on it as it is far to big. Have some more tidbits to add. to the funnels, before I'm done with them. I see you have a few spare cranes, an' davits, a hidden "pinch torpedo" in the center, which sets of the size of it all nicely. When I look at the parts, they're not so small, when I look at the hull I sometimes wonder how to get it all on without making a hughe stack. Today no harvest, study time ... Looking very spiffy Greg (something tells me, you must have done it before).
  18. If you are lucky you can smell what's for lunch in the rafters Actually, I would go for brekkie first However, since you asked for luncheon details, pizza with mushrooms and goat cheese, and pizza with salmon, or I dish up the salmon in either pancakes with cream cheese, and dill, or a souflé. Haven't made up my mind yet ... oh darn, mustn't forget to make apricot ice cream!!
  19. Darn, and I so hoped to have that belfry cleared, so I could sit relaxed, and dish up my latest concoctions
  20. whimp You mean: Then you took out your visor, and had a look at the real stuff I've learned to keepy mouth shut ... luckily not the hard way!!! It seems a lot harder than it really is. Patience, some apropriate tooling, and a visor would come in handy after a certain age (like mine). CA thin and thick (gel like). Why not join us, and have some practice with a relatively small ship ... we could do with a few more builders ... you can follow our lead, which makes it easier, and you do not need to do exactly what we do. RGL does it his way, I do it mine ...
  21. Thanks Jack, black and grey to go. Just give me hands a rest from bending Waiting for a book on V & W clas destroyers, with which I hope to improve on the kit ...
