  1. Jan Have a look here: https://shop.drijfhoutnl.com/webwinkel-gereedschap/pincetten.html
  2. Ah Mr Bunny1954, I was wondering where you got ... good to have you hopping over, join the rest of these distinct gentlemen
  3. Jan, I get them from different places. Have to take a look into my invoices... One of them is 30 years old, and comes from a stamp (the ones you put on letters) shop in Rotterdam. I like medical tweezers too. Most model building tweezers aren't very accurate or "stable"
  4. Yesterday evening I tiled the top of the other two turrets. The first one I started from the wrong end. With the last two I went front to back, which made gluing a lot easier This afternoon railings on turret two (darn, forgot the bottle Robin )
  5. You haven't seen te coal shovels at the end of my arms. I'll soon find out won't I ...
  6. Some very crisp clean work Greg. I hope I'll do as much justice to it when I get there!!!
  7. Good to see you here Mike, Jan, OC, thanks for visiting Some more pics. Pontos PE (Keith, got this set from Australia) Some reference material And the underside of the turret. At first I thought it were etched lines, looking more closely ... it's a mesh!!! Cheers
  8. Keith, You must have an alarm on new topics which are plastic models + PE!! Maybe no shares but then you must own a couple Good to see you Robin, I'll be looking for bottles Allan, I'm not going to use Brasso, despite that hughe can from Robin. Ken, Don't make a mess, I would like to be able to find my dropped parts Denis, Thought you might like some twinkle stuff, great to have you aboard!
  9. Forgot to ask why you should use white glue on paper ...
  10. So far I've invested approximately 4 hours over the last few days in this build. I started with the main turrets ... still going on turret number 1 1st clean up the plastic base 2nd add the brass (1 piece of railing has not yet been glued, 2 pieces more to add) All the brass on top, and at the fore, are not in the Pontos set. So far it is just FlyHawk PE
  11. Finally started on this big plastic tub. Besides the invisible PE from Tamiya - bring x-ray goggles - I've got both the Pontos detail up set advanced , and the FlyHawk. The latter is quite impressive. No pictures from the Pontos PE. I forgot to take pictures, and on top of that I just dropped my coolpix on the ground, lens first. It seems I might just as well buy a a new one, as repairs will cost me about the same The Flyhawk had the Nagato booklet, but they sent me a replacement. It seems it is easier to find what parts go where with the proper booklet Sister ship is built by Greg IJN Yamato 1:350 This will be a slow (agonising) build. I've decided to start with all the small parts like guns and turrets to get some dexterity with the PE. This is worse than the stripdown Fokker DR1 I build from Eduard
  12. Clinker built is not easy, even at a larger scale
  13. Hello Julie, I've got the modelbuilder's blues ... My Dolphyn is on hold for a number of reasons, one of witch is the instructions are very poor English and scant, or Eyetalian, which I cannot read, and google translate makes a dung heap of the translation. The other build fell, and I need to do some repairs. I tried a few times but each time they didn't stick. Depressing ... Furthermore, life has a tendency to pop up when you don't need it to. Fortunately no children, so no excuse there. However, I do not want to quit, so I try to motivate me building other things, like a largely PE based Fokker dr1, home improvement which has been delayed to often, and whatever else I can find. I know I'll come back to those two models. After all, it took me merely 3 years to finish an ini mini tiny scratch build I started as an aside ... Don't quit on your Endeavour, put it on hold but don't loose it out of sight, you've done a very good job on her! Besides, what's MSW without you! Cheers
  14. Nenad, If you do not see the inside of the boats, either because they are upside down, or because of a cover, why not make four plugs and plank them. You will do yourself a big favour, and no need to pull out (the last of) your hair
  15. Nenad, may be an idea to laminate the ribs. The glue will make the ribs sturdier/more sturdy, which in turn will help to keep the form of the boat ...
  16. Well, as long as it won't turn in shootin' at, we don't mind. Nice bit a progress, but that is to be expected with double width sized planks
  17. Jed, Welcome to MSW. You've been given some sound advice. Now it is up to you. If you get into trouble, just ring the bell in your build log Have fun Cheers
