  1. George, i have to say i dont have experince bending small ril so far...but id be inclibed to say ...depends on how you are going to bend it. 3/16 its quite a lot for easy bend , i can imagine soak and bend it over violin bender ....i woul try. if doeant work i would cut shape around forecastle and stern and bend reast where is no stee pround easily. im pretty intereated as we with folks finished measuring another McKay clipper glory , so i will have it alser cut and will tra to build her following model shipways fish planes so exactly as you work. i have them at home and i liek every bit of it. its proper way to build a clipper so im finally looking forward to buidl clipper properly. im glad i can watch your steps and observe:) have fun.
  2. not sure i got it, i have to read repatedly Richard by the way detail of stern after change, what you say of it now folks ? sorry for poor lines its just prolonged line sketch. by the way sheer is 7 inches as written in book. ...you can not slight "offline bump of smooth curve right where sheer it on that photo too...sort of way....straight sternpost and LOA and perpendicular measure pretty much define the main points of stern curvature and start and end...of it... ....also distance of sheers and rails....
  3. Noted Rob thanks, I would also say that I had to make it longer on one photo in wharfe where she is faced from the bow, i see longer part of nameplate before it reaches naval hood. Well gentlemen, apart of this, we have her beautifly measured at this point, also 6 FT bulwarks ( its around 4, 4.5 in michael drawings, and proper position of all sheers that move up to the stern where they define its proportions... i think i get drunk
  4. I prologed her I think this is she follows bended lines perfectly. I didnt touch Druxeys draw just smoothed lines. ...i like figurative ahdvproportions are true head position drapery and overal feel is very leisury like. Seducing...:)
  5. This is very interesting, I had dificulties to find entire nameplate so I depicted letter from two photos though...so I ditched doingit from actual nameplate and tweaked available rectangular font to sort of carving one, but rounds around S are not sharp but rounded a bit, closeup view would surely be more than welcome. That is not final version for sure, there is many but... uncapitaled "of the " is also kind of temporary and not defiitive as it doesnt have qualities of original work in progress indeed. Thank you very much for pointing source of nameplate. Im sure Rob and Richard would find something.
  6. i chcanged various aspect of it. i will try to underlayer black color as this can be little confusing. i joined them and deleted some rough lines that shouldnt be there ....
  7. Here we goo, but what a lovely cents ! amazing. thank you ! i think her hand should be littel longer but i m going to position her on vessel.
  8. Rob, Richard, I wil try to lift stern this evening to 2 FT from 1 we did last time to see how stern apears after ive done it. i will post once done. i smell some good outcome cant wait to have hooray day so i can have the bulkheads cut . one note from me im definitely not going to mak 3D model Rob, i tried to fool ot somehow in cad program but for determining Z axis there are calculations needed or whole work to be done in3D program instead of 2 D. i am not up to that. just fyi.
  9. Im pleased you like nameplte board Richard, im pretty satisfied how it turned out myself. You guys feel free to criticise or correct any lines or whatever remark, I would be happy... you could also draw Richard Rob Druxey or Whoever, you have artistic eyes and hands, sure there are is a few of free thoughts and freelines in lower acanthus leafs ornament that should be corrected though and it would be okey doke. one thing for sure i dont know how we could manage to alive that gorgeous statue but im sure i wont bother even trying to draw her. i think native american heritage souls and hands must recreate her !
  10. Hello All, I am adding here a plastic revel kit as I promised Bruma to post it here. This was just 2 weekends work as I used wooden leftovers from another build. I had kit left in cellar somewhere and motivated by Bruma teasing that rigging 1:96 its fun. and his fantastic sails but also very beautiful Robs Wiederrich paper sails I thought I could rig here sometime in the distant future. I basically scraped some plastic rails... as looked toyish to me, and substituted by boxwood and alaskan cedar. Hatched covers etc...I improved inner rail with original pattern by inserting paper strips... I am terrible in painting so I left cabins original and installed fantastic wooden deck from his model company. I dont intent to continue in some time now, as I have hands full...i exhanged decoration with etched one, and reinforced lower masts properly and thats it. I hope to continue but in distant future for sure....
  11. Bruma! i never ever seen more beautiful sails! they are just astoundigly realistic. when you advised me dry brush last year i knew you are a treasure but this is just amazing. clapping hands! your humbleness is unwanted you really are master of the craft ! Thanks for cook recipe for the sails indeed.
  12. Thank Rob, you have full right to nitpick everything Rob, I wanted to show ornament....its new risen sheer from yesterday...its just yet not risen rest to it properly....of course it links up....
  13. its noted. yes I would say as well that its more than 1 foot along such longitude... even from the bulkheads rise can be seen that Michaels 2.6.. 2.7 rise is very shallow and smooth... rising steadily towards stern......we have to keep in mind quite extential moving also comprises other aspects and shapes sometimes unwanted direction....as if we move one proportion and only one, it will deform other one... .anyway we got show here again so I have still plenty to do meanwhile around ornamentation drawings as curves must be closed for laser. lets settle this issue for a bit in minds...longtime work cases eyestrain is an issue for me so i will slow down a bit here....screen is an enemy ...:) so i will take few days off from her. V.
  14. No worries Richard, Im not going to do do bulkheads recalculation untill we set firmly on this one - as it is very slow process I have to adjust each one and i wouldnt like to do it twice for sure Meanwhile seems like all lines messed up so i am driving myself nuts anyway thankfully im backuping at least each fresh one so far.... i reshaped stern but it doesnt look that perfect to be honest unless I move sternpos downward to the ship....21 would do it to be honest. . I reshaped stern as I took previous one. I think much better now.... V.
  15. Im happy to hear upper deck will be partially opened. caant wait to see that chapter. will be marvel with those beams. oh today got a note that parcel is at custom so it took something more than 3 weeks. cant wait to see it. parts 4&5. terrific. by the way Chuck, I didnt see figureheads in store for some time do i have those order somewhat separately? not in a hurry i have time though. Thank you.
  16. at least some amazing news , we are pretty much there Rob and that measurement wasnt even taken into account.... - resulted out itself . means your calculations and proportioning as whole guys pay handsomely off... your assesment seems spot on...
