Neat job on the painting. White is the worse to get even consistent coverage in my opinion.

Be careful when tying these ratlines that you don't make them too tight. This will result in the shrouds being pulled together. And finish up leaving the whole assembly uneven and wonky. Nice work.

Rope is the most wasted material in the model ship building game. There is not much to do but bin them. Your ratlines look great. Good work.

Very nice sails. They look great. Also your seizing is top notch. Almost time to fly the flag!

Your doing a fine job. I like the rope coils from your catheads. Running the line over a block of beeswax will get rid of all the fuzzys on your thread when it comes time to do the rigging.

I'm not too sure on the sail rings. I left those out as I didn't put sails on mine. I can not say for sure what the third hole is. I never had that either. My best guess would be something to do with lashing the sail? Good work. Keep it up.

This means from now on it's extra careful when handling the hull! Nice work.

Those deadeye things are the chainplate assembly. They came up great. Nice work on carving the Bitt heads. Good work.

I had shaved the keel down to 4mm and built up to 5mm with the finale planking. 2mm was a bit to thin for my liking. Hope this helps.

Very neat planking. Almost brought this kit about 3 days ago. But it's impossible trying to get past the admiral. Everything looks nice and even. Well done.

If I remember correctly I had faired down the stern post when I did the fairnig for the bulk heads. I had shaved it down until both 2nd planking starboard and port could fit into the supplied hinges. Nice work.

I remember I had painted mine as the box had shown. I'm not too sure about the nails. Maby a few more of them closer together for the correct scale if you want to active that.

Hey Brian, Yes the instructions are very basic. Lacking a lot of information especially for the novice builders. Your doing great by the way. Good job.

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
