  1. What is the best paint for pewter or white metal? Arcrylic or Enammel? I know acrylic rubs off after a while but is Enammel the same?
  2. Square masts! Interesting. Best of luck with this build I'm sure you will make a masterpiece of her.
  3. I used the hull planking tutorial from this site for my Bounty. The lines you have look good. It's a real pain trying to match wood for the same shades but I hope you have it sorted.
  4. Doing a wonderful job. The bow of this ship is quite a hard one to plank. Good work.
  5. Still looking great, are you looking at using the kit supplied rope or goin to source some better lines for the rigging?
  6. Such a beautiful job! I'm planning to do the same with my cannons. Keep up the good work.
  7. Looks amazing. Well done. Now it's time to start the rigging.... More fiddlley work to come..
  8. All these tools will get you off to a great start but the most important tool we can use, And it takes a bit to master and that is Patience! Take your time. It's not a hobby if things are rushed. I'm sure you will do just fine All the best with your first new build.
  9. All the best for your move and hope to see you continue soon. Take care.
  10. A nice build you have. I found it quite interesting how the bulkheads came still in their spurs. I find Mamoli usually shrink wrap them in plastic. Your doin a great job. Good work
  11. It's coming along nice. Shouldn't be too much of a problem to get the deck fitted? Good work.
  12. Great craftsmanship. I could stare at that planking job all day long and never get sick of it. That looks like a red oxide color and has come up great. Well done mate.
  13. It's looking absolutely fantastic Bob. I have this kit waiting so it's good being able to see what I have in store. Very nice flowing hull planks you have. Good work.
  14. Sorry but I have not built this particular kit. I have however built the King of the Mississippi paddle wheeler from Artenseina Latina. That was a nice kit. I will be sure to follow along your build as soon as it arrives
  15. Hey it's looking great. A simple jig made up to check gunport sizes can be made using the size off the plans. A simple square piece of wood glued to a dowel can make it easier to get them all uniform. Your planking is looking great.
  16. Off to a nice start. Good use of clamps. Is there any danger of the keel warping while in that vise?
  17. The old electric toothbrush with sandpaper glued to where the bristles have been cut off.
  18. I'm sure Bunnings will have some even maby smaller hardware stores. It's mostly regarded for finishing woods. Looks better. I don't think it's acrylic tho. Best of luck
