  1. There are a few kits that provide belaying pins that are all out of whack scale wise. I myself purchase much slimmer ones as you have done. Sometimes they look like bowling pins!! I'm sure the dimension pins you have purchased will be better looking.
  2. That was like a scary movie! Just when you think it's the hero's time to die, All works out for the best in the end. Well done. It looks great
  3. What a great start to the deck planking. Are you going to simulate treenails on these deck planks? Good work.
  4. Its been awhile since I last visited your build. What a beauty she has become. Great work. Well done. Looks very nicely and neatly rigged.
  5. Coming along nicely. I also have this kit waiting for me. I like the lighting effects your going for. Good work.
  6. Hey there. I just read through your log. Looks amazing. Well done. I like the cross section kits. Maby one day (sigh)
  7. Looks neatly done. I do like the brass decorations on the sides of the walls. I really do like the contrasting different words. They really stick out. Great work keep up the good work.
  8. I would even imagine me building this kit but as it is very rare now days mayby not. Your off to a good start. The metal decorations Mamoli provides are decent but do need a lot of cleaning up as lots of flashing and burrs occur. Good work.
  9. Those hatches come up great! Same with the rest of the deck furniture. Turning the axles on a drill lathe looks like it's doing wonders. I really like the blue windows on the hatches. You dont see many builds of this ship. Good work.
  10. Looks beautifully done. The new stern gallery windows look heaps better. You will see after time that the colour will grow on you. It looks good and neatly painted. Well done.
  11. I think I might take on board what you have done on my next build. Never thought about rigging without blocks. I have a rule as to finish one build before starting another. Keep up the great work.
  12. I love ships. But not only that, I would like to one day see a kit developed of a late 18th- Early 19th century Gold dredge. I really love dredges. Especially the gold rush Bucket line pond dredges. They are very interesting and unique. There is a model of one in the Cromwell information Center based in Central Otago, New Zealand. These wooden behemoths of the rivers and ponds are a big part of history during the gold rushes of the world and all come in lots of different shapes and sizes. This type of model will incorporate lots of wooden boat building as well as offering the Adventurus modeler a chance to work lots with metal parts too. Lots of winch gear work for working the machinery and also control the anchor lines. Plenty of detail to include and lots of photos from around the world for research. Anyway that is my two cents spent.
  13. Your cannons look amazing! I rigged with the rope around the cannon bell only. Too fiddly to add the others you have done. Well done, Nice neat work.
  14. Wish I had a spare room I could do that! Your ship looks great. Beautiful attention to detail. Well done. I particularly like the framing around the cat heads as they pass through the bulwarks. Are the cannons going to be blackened by any chance?
  15. Great job. Keep up the good work. Looks good. I see you have the rings for the sail on your mast, you must be adding sails?.
  16. Damn shame. Hopefully you get back into the few years down the track. I'm tempted mate but as of now im new allowed to collect ( As she calls it) anymore kits. All the best for down the track.
  17. Better veiw here. These lines were coated in beeswax and glued with 50:50 white glue. I find it easier to handle off the ship when stropping these.
  18. Here are a couple from my Friesland build. I try to get the shroud tied right above the top hole. Sorry about the pic on the angle. Can't seem to fix that.
  19. Those are very poorly fabricated deadeyes! The larger one might as well have just one hole in the center. Your doing a great job.
  20. Sewing thread would be suitable for maybe this scale. Don't tension your lines to tight. And stay very clear of CA glues as they tend to brittle and stain the lines over time. To help fix your chain plates to the sides, Insert the brass nails I presumed came in the kit. Works securely and you don't have to rely on the bond of your glue to hold all of your shroud assembly.
