  1. Hi Janelle, welcome to the forum! 👍😀
  2. Welcome to the forum! What may we call you? 👍😀
  3. Hi Lyle, welcome to the forum! 👍😀
  4. Thanks Dave. The reason I did not do the center window was because as mentioned it appears the real ship, according to the Admiralty drawings (after capture and subsequent renaming to Cormorant) didn’t have one. Dave, your paint scheme for the Britannia is exactly the colors I have chosen. Thanks for the painting link! 👍😀
  5. Thanks for the resource! Good for lots of detail, not just color. 👍😀
  6. Looking good! That NHL rug brings back childhood memories from 1971 living in Sault Ste Marie watching Hockey Night in Canada every Saturday. Bruins, Maple Leafs, Canadiens, Blackhawks, Flyers, Redwings… what an era! 👍😀
  7. Hi Rob, welcome! 👍😀
  8. They do indeed! I have personally watched sailors at the marina hand waxing their J boats before weekly race day.
  9. Back at you CD! Thank you! 👍😀
  10. Dave, Those cleats are incredible! You've given me hope that perhaps I may be able to use the Brittania cleats that came with the Rattlesnake. I love all your scratch built deck furniture! 👍😀
  11. Hi Dave, Welcome to the forum! 👍😀
  12. Hi Dave, That hull looks beautiful! 👍 Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours! 😀
  13. Welcome to the forum! 😀 What do we call you?
  14. Welcome to the forum! 😀
  15. Spent the last couple days tinkering with the stern. The Britannia piece did bend quite easy, now waiting for some blue paint. Left the window frames natural wood. The bright white just didn’t do it for me.
  16. Hi Ed, At the moment I am strictly a brush guy. I am considering investing the equipment, not so much for wooden ships, but my my plastic endeavors.
  17. Now there’s something outside the model building box. 😆 You know If it works… go with it. 👍😀
  18. NICE! Enjoying watching the build! 👍😀
  19. So... after all the great comments... if I wanted to be more authentic than not in my building of the Rattler... the "tallow" paint would be more correct than mat white for the hull? Below are some paint comparisons. The yellow ochre was just between brands.
  20. Jim, I respect your decision, much as I disagree with it. If we were take this approach (that many here have done) and apply it to everything in life… Brother, we’d be living a very different life. I know a topic like this could go politically terminal in no time, don’t want that. We’ve beat this dead horse pretty good I think. Respectfully,
