  1. I've now completed all of the Staysail Halliards and downhauls, the Jib Sail Halliards and downhauls and the Fly Jib Sail Halliard and downhaul. I'm now working on redoing some of the yards starting with the lower course yards. Thanks for stopping by!
  2. Very nice Floyd. I remember making the mold and pouring the resin for these way back when. I think this is a good solution and the cost is good too.
  3. Very Nice Andrew, I have that model on the shelf and it has a special meaning to me. My uncle was on the Samuel B when she was sunk. Luckily he was one of the survivors. I look forward to following along.
  4. Thanks B.E. She is one of my favorites! I like that idea Floyd! Not sure we can get Chuck on board though. I use them for rigging rope right now. Wrap the rope around a dowel, drill a hole in the top, pull out the rope as I need it and wah lah no tangles.
  5. I've completed the new boom and rigged both the boom and gaff. You'll notice ends of rope hanging off the sides. I'm waiting to finish them off until I know I don't have to adjust the tension. Next is the staysail rigging while I continue refreshing all of the yards.
  6. Hi Floyd, No problem. The plans I have are from the MSW group build and not the ones from Model Shipways so I don't know about those. Here is a picture of the spacing from my set of plans. As you can see there is plenty of room on these plans. The Model Shipways plans may not be to scale? Not sure. Hope this helps.
  7. I've now added the fore topgallant stay, fore royal stay, jib stay, flying jib stay as well as the inhauls for both jib stays. I've also completed the bowsprite horse and netting. The standing rigging is now complete. I've removed the yards from the fore mast and I'm going through them and correcting/fixing whatever may be needed.
  8. It's great to see the honesty and integrity people like you, Greg and David have and the continued excellence you all provide to this hobby we love so much! Thank you.
  9. Hi Chuck, I've assembled my Syren Rope Rocket and waiting for the glue to dry. The videos are really good but I thought the headless horseman was giving the lesson. Where was your smiling face?
  10. Thanks Jim and also for the likes. Bob in a kind of masochistic way it's fun going back and redoing it. I look at the plans and say to myself "I did it that way before? Sure doesn't seem familiar." LOL
  11. The standing rigging is getting closer to be completion. I think I can remember what I've finished so far! Both the Fore and main top mast backstays, top gallant shrouds, top gallant backstays and royal backstays. You will also notice that I put a temporary fore royal stay to help steady the fore mast royal while rigging the back stays. Also lines have been tied off but not completed and coils placed until I'm sure I won't have to re-tension them.
  12. I agree with Dirk and want all three too. That said the Pegasus is beautiful and would buy it in a heart beat but I chose the Chebacco as it is fun to do something a little different. No matter which one you choose I think you'll have a winner.
  13. Thanks Ben, That Syren Ship Model Company rope is great to work with. Now hopefully there wont be a third time! Also thanks for all the likes.
  14. Work continues, The main and fore top mast stays and preventer stays have been served and a simulated mouse created. The new main topgallant has been placed and the stays attached. Next up will be the main topgallant shrouds and backstays.
  15. I served the main and fore stays and preventer stays, created a simulated mouse on each and installed them. Next up will be the main topmast stays.
  16. Finding a company to do such a labor intensive jobs is great news. Eagerly awaiting the next batch.
  17. Glad to see a new update. Great craftsmanship!
  18. Hi John, Keith has supplied some great information. Do you plan on making your masts and spars from square stick or dowels? Methods and tools can vary depending the type of stock you start with.
  19. Hi Ryland. She's looking great. Your attention to the little details is really worth the effort.
