    Nils, What a great model you put together. I really love these Sweedish boats and wish Billing Boats could re-issue the Bohuslan and the Hjejlen in 1/48-1/50 scales. I am sure they would have a lot of success on the market place. Yves

    Nils, this is beautiful. Are you using one of these spoke wheels to emboss the rivets? Once painted, this is going to look terrific. On a side note, my brother dug out an old unfinished kit of the Billing Boats Hjejlen (spelling is probably incorrect) and I showed him your thread related to that boat. He is very excited and may finish it like you did. Yves

    How about using the so called silk paper used to wrap gifts or fill up gift bags? Once painted, it should be quite realistic. Yves

    Progress on the gun port lids: Second quarter of the vessel, completed !!! I am starting to develop a technique to go a little bit faster and install these in an easier way. This side is now completely finished, as far as gun port lids go.... Still plenty of things to do.... Overall view of the beast... I will be travelling to Europe for an extended period of time and thus, it may be a while before the next update. Yves

    All this is a significant amount of work on top of the kit hull as designed by Trumpeter. It reminds me of all the work I had to do on the hull and deck of my Trumpeter U-552 submarine. Yves

    That helicopter is a fantastic improvement over the model provided in the kit. It looks really sharp.

    I started the tedious phase of building and installing the gun port lids. One quarter of the vessel, at a time.... CAF Models provides enough PE parts to make them movable and fully hinged. On my model, I have simplified the articulations and glued the lids into the ports. Just a couple of dozens to go..... Yves
