That looks good ! I use yacht varnish and that makes it darker. When you have do the whole deck, maybe I'm gonna use that for my Aggy when I'm at that stage ( In a couple of years…. ) It's Nelsons favourite ship so I have to use that Nelson varnish !

Hi Lawrence, Welcome to the world of Le Mirage, We had really a great time in England. And the museum was the top. We are feeling like kids in a candy store ! So much models of all kind of ships. To bad that we can not see them all. But that's almost impossible because there are in big sliding lockers. I think we need a month to see all those ships…. Thanks for the nice words on the ratlines. I have not counting them yet. Still a few to go ! @ Popeye, Not one but three to go on the lower part. The foremast want also ratlines. But I still have to order chains and deadeyes. I hope I can do that at the end of the month. When the port side have there ratlines I'm gonna make the futtock staves and then up….. Another challenge. @ Thanks Augie, Are you counting those ratlines for me? Or have I to do it myself…..
-
Augie want some pictures, so here they are... Ratlines mizzen mast starboard side are done. This afternoon I can go to the other side….

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
