  1. I built the Wasa many moons ago. I replaced the hull planking with cherry as the wood was rather brittle. When I build mine, the carvings and some of the fittings were plastic and I'd assume that hasn't changed.
  2. Email them, they usually respond pretty quick but given the way things are these days, may take longer.
  3. The pirate punishment sounds like something out of Cheech and Chong.... "First we hang them, then we torture them.".
  4. Metal cleanup of the chips, shavings is a bear which why I try not to do metal.
  5. Brave man, he who drives for the speed record with no brakes.
  6. No worries, Kevin. I was just testing my memory but with all the variations and the different types of aircraft, the B-25 might have had the windows with guns through them.
  7. Welcome to MSW. This sounds like a great project. I'm looking forward to it.
  8. Welcome to MSW, Stu. I too have never done model combat but always found it interesting.
  9. Welcom to MSW. Yes, You may be using a different model for the source of information, but the build sounds like a scratch build.
  10. My apologies for writing "buildog" when I meant "build log". Thanks Tony for posting the correction. Alan, I'm sorting that out now for the gun deck.
  11. I know someone will ask... so I'll do it first with apologies to Charles Shultz. At some point will there be a little flying dog house with a beagle sitting on top yelling "Curse you Red Baron"?
  12. I would think that just about any nautical museum would be quite pleased to take that off your hands, Yves. Since the supply of superlatives has been used up by the others, I'll just say "wow!!!! I love the way she came out.".
  13. I suspect that you're right about it being more of a Missouri river design. The boats using mostly the other rivers, including the Mississippi probably wouldn't need them to be full-time accessible as there may not have been much riverboat traffic on them.
  14. Jacques, thank you visiting my log. I've been following yours since I started and it has been very helpful. Carl, Here it is: https://5500.forumactif.org/t3216-la-belle-poule-de-1765-au-1-48-par-guydal
  15. Even here in the States, woods other than basswood (lime) and bulsa have be special ordered. Go to the Wood Discussion area. I believe there are some exotic wood places in the UK or at least accessible online for you to use. And some woods are just getting impossible to find.
  16. Hank, Just curious here, will you also be looking for a mill at some point? If so, consider the mill instead of a drill press.
  17. Good question... you'd be basically retrofitting back in time. Even then, I'm not sure the Missouri and New Jersey were ever the same due to the way they changed and improved things as they built them. I'm sure we have someone around here who could tell you, I'm just not sure who. You might try a search here..
  18. I find those that critical usually have some mental issues. Best to ignore the trolls and they will wander off and look for attention elsewhere. Spot on OC. And generally advice or help is only offered when someone asks for some.
  19. I'm in.... at 1/72 those must be tiny.
  20. That looks great. I thought the side panels were removed before putting the wiast guns in? C-130 gunship hadn't arrived when I was there. Did see a Spooky aka Puff the Magic Dragon on the ground. The windows were open. If they weren't, the plane would have filled with smoke from the breeches as the guns fired.
  21. Beautiful. That would be a great ride, Capone or no Capone.
  22. Well, that last certainly answers the musical question of "What do you do with a drunken sailor?" OTOH, I didn't know nose pulling was an offense back than.
