I built the Wasa many moons ago. I replaced the hull planking with cherry as the wood was rather brittle. When I build mine, the carvings and some of the fittings were plastic and I'd assume that hasn't changed.

The pirate punishment sounds like something out of Cheech and Chong.... "First we hang them, then we torture them.".

No worries, Kevin. I was just testing my memory but with all the variations and the different types of aircraft, the B-25 might have had the windows with guns through them. -

Welcome to MSW. This sounds like a great project. I'm looking forward to it. -
Welcome to MSW, Stu. I too have never done model combat but always found it interesting.

Welcom to MSW. Yes, You may be using a different model for the source of information, but the build sounds like a scratch build.

I know someone will ask... so I'll do it first with apologies to Charles Shultz. At some point will there be a little flying dog house with a beagle sitting on top yelling "Curse you Red Baron"? -
I would think that just about any nautical museum would be quite pleased to take that off your hands, Yves. Since the supply of superlatives has been used up by the others, I'll just say "wow!!!! I love the way she came out.".

I suspect that you're right about it being more of a Missouri river design. The boats using mostly the other rivers, including the Mississippi probably wouldn't need them to be full-time accessible as there may not have been much riverboat traffic on them.

Good question... you'd be basically retrofitting back in time. Even then, I'm not sure the Missouri and New Jersey were ever the same due to the way they changed and improved things as they built them. I'm sure we have someone around here who could tell you, I'm just not sure who. You might try a search here..

I find those that critical usually have some mental issues. Best to ignore the trolls and they will wander off and look for attention elsewhere. Spot on OC. And generally advice or help is only offered when someone asks for some. -

That looks great. I thought the side panels were removed before putting the wiast guns in? C-130 gunship hadn't arrived when I was there. Did see a Spooky aka Puff the Magic Dragon on the ground. The windows were open. If they weren't, the plane would have filled with smoke from the breeches as the guns fired. -

Beautiful. That would be a great ride, Capone or no Capone. -
Well, that last certainly answers the musical question of "What do you do with a drunken sailor?" OTOH, I didn't know nose pulling was an offense back than.

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
