  1. Thanks Greg. I like your logic - "oh bugger it; too much hard work."! In fact, sometimes I use that same logic when I'm gardening, especially with the Aussie heatwaves we get..... Cheers and all the best Patrick
  2. Hi Dimitris As I was reading along to catch up with previous posts, I was thinking 'what a good recovery with the masts' only to find that you'd made the miscalculation. No stress! We all have those brain farts from time to time! After all, where would life be without a brain fart or two??? Cheers and all the best Patrick
  3. Hi Jond Your hull's looking really good. Lots of work and logistics to go, of course, but exciting, nonetheless. Cheers Patrick
  4. Hi Mark That's a really clever workaround you've got there. Nice! I'll lock that one away in my memory banks for later. Cheers Patrick
  5. Hi Mike Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful....that's all I can say! Also, I reckon your wife has hit on a winner, there. Perhaps a good money spinner for you??? Cheers Patrick
  6. Thanks Mark! Sometimes, I think I have a sausage brain as well as sausage fingers, because neither of them talk to each other... All the best Patrick
  7. Hi Ben, Mark and Bob Gees, no pressure with the details, hey? LOL. Actually, I'd love to make it look as convincing as possible, but I'm struggling to find some good photos of these stern garages on yachts. If all else fails, we could always tell the skipper to say 'open sesame'!!! Seriously though, many thanks for all of your comments and feedback. Many thanks Patrick
  8. Hi John Many thanks! Yep, I do love miniatures, but also, I have to build small scale models because I don't have a lot of space! Incidentally, all of my much loved RC yachts are gathering dust in the garden shed....so, yer, tiny models is the only way to go for me. Cheers and all the best! Patrick
  9. Hi Greg Thanks for your compliments. Greatly appreciated! Yep- My aim is to put in as much detail as I can, including the ship's tender and jet skis...wish me luck! Also, I know what you're saying about the 'depth of field' in my photos. I've got a whizz bang camera, but I'll have to put in a Help Desk call to the 'Technical Support' branch of the family (AKA my son!) to show me how to use it. Hopefully, I'll learn how to take better shots.. Cheers Patrick
  10. Hi Mark, Dimitris and Piet Many, many thanks for your comments and Likes. Greatly appreciated Patrick
  11. Hi Pete It's really nice how the hull's turning out! Can you pls just clarify - will this hull be radio controlled, or will it be the next hull (at 1:1 scale) that'll be RC'd? Cheers Patrick
  12. Hi Piet Really nice work on the cannons and trying to tame all those lines of rigging. You're braver than I am. Somehow, you make it look so easy! Keep up the great work. Cheers Patrick
  13. Hi Ben I can definitely empathise with your mechanical prowess (or, lack thereof). My mechanical skills are next to useless. In fact, all I can do is trust the mechanic and pay the bill! Having said that, it's great that you're able to get back into the swing of things and concentrate on your engine. Now, please go and get some more dowel so that we can see some more updates!!! All the best Patrick
  14. Brass blind nut? Now that's clever recycling! You didn't tell your wife that the blind no longer works, I hope?
  15. Hi everyone- thanks for all of your comments and Likes. Always appreciated. Well, woohoo!!! Who's a happy boy, then? It's only taken me a few days of head scratching and brain cells, but I've finally figured out how to get the stern door (which leads to the tender garage) to work. Part of the secret was to use a paper hinge and to get the pivot point of the hinge positioned 'just right'. There's still a lot of finessing to go, but at least the door works and that's all that matters at this stage. I can start sanding and painting it later. Anyhow, here's the photos. Cheers Patrick
