Hi Ben Amazing job on the engine! I hear what you're saying about striving for the 'essence' rather exactness, but in reality, your engine looks so good, that who would know the difference. What you've managed to achieve is really impressive, especially given how fiddly it's been. Thanks also for the compliments...not sure I deserve it, but, it's nice to hear nonetheless. Many thanks Patrick

Hi Mark I definitely agree with Mark!!! Looking mighty fine. Quick question and probably a stupid one, though. I keep seeing "TFFM' being quoted by a number of modellers, but what does it actually stand for??? Cheers Patrick

Very nice job on those bent frames, Pete. I'd imagine that it wouldn't have been easy to get the correct compound curves?

Hi Ben Thanks and you're right about the engines. They're squeezed in front of the tender bay! As far as the decks go, there are three more to go....the main deck, bridge deck and sun deck. That should keep me occupied for a while. Cheers and all the best Patrick

Hi Denis Thanks. Makes sense to me now! Interesting;y, we wouldn't have anything to compare it to in Australia (Aussies - pls correct me if I'm wrong) because our Christmas season is usually seriously hot (usually 35C and upward) and so a 'warming hous' is probably the furthest thing from our minds. We'd be more inclined to want a fridge! Nevertheless, I'm always enjoying following your progress. Cheers Patrick

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
