  1. Regarding CA glue, it has a shelf life of 6-12 months at room temperature. You will notice that it starts to take longer to set. While accelerator helps, I find it better to just get a new bottle. Unopened glue will last a long time in the freezer. Nic

  3. Silkspan is what stick-and-tissue airplane modelers cover their models with. Perhaps a hobby store might carry it. Here is a photo of Sultana with silkspan sails.
  4. So after much thinner, rubbing, scraping and sanding, a coat of primer, more sanding, and a spray tan, the result is much more pleasing.

  6. To me it looks like some filler should do the trick. The fatter bulwark will be hidden by the caprail, perhaps it will need to be a bit wider. No-one is going to take a ruler to your model an critique it. " putty and paint....makes it look like what it ain't"
  7. A Dremel with a cut-off wheel will cut the brass nicely. I have seen them cut straight across, but also seen them cut at an angle to match the hull. Take your choice. Nic

  9. The pin vise we sell is good for drills down to #75. Smaller than that I use a Dremel universal chuck.
  10. Nothing looks better than even battens. We are now putting them in the Bowdoin, Pauline, and Charles Notman. And the Wyoming when it is finished.
