  1. Hi, I remember this kit Very well, it was my first ever wood kit and first log in here way back before the site crashed back in 2011 (I think) my avatar pic is of the little boat you built, I had to leave my part built hull due to a house move - it was too big to come with us. OC.
  2. What might also be a good idea - where the strips meet the steps on the right in your pic above, you could remove the Two step - run it straight across then make the Two missing steps out of your plastic evergreen stock. OC.
  3. Also to add more data - Victory at Trafalgar some feel she also had built up forward forecastle bulwarks of similar height to the quater deck bulwarks with cut outs for the canons on the forecastle deck, some also feel these bulwarks also had short hamock bins to help with musket shot from the enemy ships same on the quarter deck bulwarks and mizzen deck also had these hamock bins but were taller. Hope this helps. OC.
  4. I see - so you need to increase the thickness of the upper wale by adding a strip 1mm wide by 0.4mm thick all the way from the beak head as far back as where the outer edge of the fram for the window assembly sits, then above that it looks like he has used a strip possibly 0.4 x 0.4mm again following the same profile but ontop of the wale. Hope that makes sense. OC.
  5. A superb builder at this crazy scale - am i amazed - yep just A lot. OC. http://www.shipmodels.info/mws_forum/viewtopic.php?f=60&t=311390
  6. Do you mean this part - its for the rigols that go over the gun parts to keep the rain out - Its plate num 2 from his site. OC.
  7. You might be right mate, certainly havn't heard much priase for them or even talk about them being used against moving objects. OC.
  8. I have had a go at editing the photos from Flyhawks promo to make them a bit clearer to see, they include the box art pic - OC.
  9. Thanks Scott, could be better if it was a new kit I was working from (roll on my Hood Kit) I have learned a lot over ther years - mainly good light and ample magnification - optovisors. OC.
  10. Evening all, some more progress this evening, its brush stage tackling all the small details - the decks still need painting. The magnification monster is making my work look very (poor) with some of the details smoothered from the original paintwork, also the near macro shot hasn't helped. OC,
  11. I'm the same with my eyes blind as a bat need glasses for all reading/laptop/tv and now I use an optovisor for all modeling. OC.
  12. Have you seen this mate - 1/64 scale shipwrights model of Hood. OC. http://hmshood.com/hoodtoday/models/gallery/hoodgallery3.htm
  13. I love the detail with the simulated planks and the wash in between the planks - really nice job. OC.
  14. That is looking really nice Alan, and aint that just the truth about too much magnification showing too much detail - its the same with my Edinburgh build - even the slightest difference in paint layers not where they should be showing up. Keep up the good work my friend. OC.
  15. Work to do to her next - add the dark Grey anti slip deck paint / do same to the tops and decks of the superstructure, paint the main part of the masts Black and White, do the Two secondary radar domes White, do some detail painting - Black in windows etc, tape the flight deck and paint the Two straight lines - one from port to starboard and the other one going into the hangar White, possibly add the two bow and stearn flag poles to be made from my wire stock and paint them Brown for wood. OC.
