  1. Its a Two fillament strip light that has a bendy tube that sits in a weight and plugs into my extension lead, It has been flickering before starting for some time now, then this evening it just flickered and went out, I unplugged it took it in the kitchen (for light) and found a few screws so I could open it up - rocker switch and power lead from mains - and a choke, I fiddled with it took the choke out - put it back in, even took the element out (Two piece unit) and put it back in, there is some blackening at the power end of the element (mind you its old - was second hand when I got it and that was a good few years back) it tries to start keeps flickering but wont. Its a lottery as it could be - the element, the choke or even the starter or possibly all Three. Time for a nerw one me thinks. OC.
  2. Thought about it (sitting the chair bit watching rubbish tv) "Nah wont work" I get too bored - will have to find something else to do, I have my aircraft spotting logs books and underline reference books I could do for a bit - I have about 3 years worth of movements to cross check from spotting in the back garden. And some old aircraft RAW files I could re-re edit again on my laptop. OC.
  3. Evening all, Serous "Grrrrrrrr" moment that has brought All my building to a sudden stop - my over head table strip light has given up the ghost and I am blinded without it, I have the magnification but no light, just when my figures were going quite well. Oh well another thing that will have to wait. OC.
  4. I'm in, used to love these as a kid the diecast ones - Dinky, Corgi etc. OC.
  5. I agree with everyone and some - its a privaledge watching your building work here, every new post is a walk into a small scale piece of mastercraft, I feel that the only things that could hold you back are the - physical restraints on how much room you have, and how far you want to go. Thank you Ekis for choosing us here to share your imagination and skill. OC.
  6. I am hoping to place about 100 in total, when they are made and painted, I will then (next year) get the farm building kit and start work on the scenery - tree's / grass / stone road way etc, then I will remove the little plastic base's the figures are moulded to - by cutting them away and tidying then up. they will then be super glued down in place on the dio, the idea is to get a made to measure display case next year and fit in inside, it will then go ontop of our living room unit. Thats the idea. OC.
  7. Thank you so much Alan, yeah I'm quite pleased how these are working out - lesson I have learned "Don't Rush" OC.
  8. Another idea - Vallejo liquid putty (the one in the tube with the really fine nozzle) I used that on my Spit and Mossie, its easy to apply and wipe off the excess before it sets and because the nozzle is so fine and small you can place down a really thin bead of filler. OC.
  9. Evening all, another tiny bit of progress but Two hours lost on this this evening - the Shakos are painted dull black, they have thier hair painted - Two have "Toshes" painted on, the shako plates "horns" are painted, also I have painted thier collars and cuffs - and lastly painted thier tunic buttons - "yep -I'm ciockeyed again" lol. OC.
