Hi again Rich I remember that for my Endeavour I use another method to do the oars: with the mahogany strips spared from a previous Constructo ship it was really easy to carved the oars By the way, you are right and the rudder must be unshipped Saludos, Karl

Hola Rich, I had the same problem in some of the ships I build. What I made was cover the metal with little strips of wood. You can see post #4 that I sent to Schnuu in his Candelaria page Saludos, Karl

Hi folks: The day has come!! After gluing the masts in position I begin with the rigging process. The first step was to put the holding ropes of the masts, the ones that are behind the shrouds. You can also see one of the the estays but are laid only to see how they look. Next I will begin with the shrouds. Saludos, Karl

Hola Matti, you are absolutely right, seeing the original ship, the 1:10 model and the Clayton model the foremast do not have the ropes around, however I didn´t notice that detail and I was just following the BB plans (also the same rope appear in the Corel and in the Vasa model at the Berlin museum). Now I already glue the masts and will leave it as it is. Saludos, Karl

Hola!! Last update: After some days of work I finished the rest of the masts, letting only the tops unbonded. I did so thinking that it could subsequently facilitate the placement of the shrouds. You can see the method I use to make them straight and how they look. You can see in the pictures the masts in their positions but I have not fixed them yet. Saludos, Karl

Hola Janv, I am waiting to have LESS sun to work comfortably, now we are at 38 C and at the capital of the state (Sonora) last week they broke record at 50 C!!! Mark made me a good observation and now I am seeing with detail the pictures of Clayton´s Vasa: https://sites.google.com/site/clayton707/vasa1628. This rigging will be a special challenge!! Hola Janv: I know that your kit is different from mine but I would like to know how are the ropes of the higher spars of the Main mast are fixed to deck because I found two versions in the instructions of my kit, one in the Manual and the other in the Plan (nothing new) as you can see in the picture. Hola Matti. Your deadeyes are really nice, and I agree that using CA glue could be sufficient to hold them. Another possibility is trying with small soldering point to fix the wires in place. Saludos, Karl

Hola: Thanks guys for your good comments, and answering your questions: Schnu: the color of the hull planking was obtained with a mixture of alcohol stains (oak, walnut and magnolia - clearer and with yellowish color) in different proportions. Sanding with a fine sandpaper and finally varnishing with a SATIN poliurethane varnish. Matti: I didn´t decide yet but I will probably put the sails (depending on my sewing skills ) Saludos, Karl

Hi friends! At last I finished with the gunports and cannons. Initially I was tempted to follow the idea of Mattie´s about letting some of the ports closed or semi closed but after seeing the movie of the Vasa sinking and knowing that apparently one of the reasons the ship sunk was because all the gunports were open, so I decided to show all of them in the open position.
