Thanks a lot for all of your compliments.Out of the three versions for sails I think I like furled the most.

Thanks very much Gentlemen,it means a lot to get great compliments.Dave we will be in the new house in September.Another case is on the cards for my Supply as well. The cover is 4.5mm Perspex made by Bnt plastics in Chch and the wooden base made by a guy at work out of rimu.I'll be keeping an eye on all of your builds with interest.Ron.

The case all done, turned out real good.Occre very kindly sent me my missing sail so it's all ready to display in the rebuilt house when we move back in.
-
Thanks Popeye, just getting the case sorted now.The house is going well, onto the cladding next week.
-
Thanks a lot for your comments men.the 0.25 and 0.5mm thread is caldercraft from cornwall model boats, those sizes in Occre thread were rubbish.I'm getting a guy in Christchurch here to make up an acrylic case top 4.5mm looks a bit stronger than 3mm.One of my work mates is making a base for it so should turn out well. After we move back to our rebuilt house after the eartquakes in September I've got a plastic huey to do then maybe a Chinese junk,i like them after visiting China. We'll see.

Thanks very much for all of your great comments,i can just sit here and look at it now.If anyone else does this kit follow the measurements on the plan not the ones in the colour instruction book. Now for a rest and follow all of your builds. Thanks for looking in and for your help.Ron.

More or less finished the Endeavour now, just need to attach a sail above the ships launch if Occre send me one or I find it again. Two and a half years as time permitted pretty good kit overall but who knows what the Endeavour really looked like, there's so many variations around with great details. Now to organise a case for it.Thanks to all of the guys who have built or are building Endeavours for the photos and advice and also for everyone else's help,it would have been nearly impossible without your help. For micklen32 and Augie r.i.p thanks men,see you later on.

Hi Pat,small parts from cornwall model boats have cheap freight with no gst added it works out good, not sure how whole kits would work out.Much cheaper kits from the u.k. than from here or Aussie for us.
-
Thanks Greg and Dave, guys at work ask me to restore or finnish ships they have been left from relatives,we'll see.Still got a plastic Huey that's been sitting in the cupboard for 8 years.
-
Thanks a lot, nearly finished now. It's easier these days to get ships and parts, cheaper freight but still adds quite a bit to a kit.
-
Thanks a lot Popeye and Greg,it means a lot coming from experts like yourselves.Just finished rigging now for the delicate things to add like the cannons and anchors.
-
Thanks a lot Mark,Denis, and Pat and for the likes.I was thinking a diorama would look good but need to see how others have done it,that would give me permanent white caps then.Wish I had sky to see the Cook doco's they would be excellent.
-
Thanks Popeye,i will add the stay sails, just one I can't find since moving into the rental but it might turn up when unpacking later on.
-
Thanks Max,i'm glad you've already done it,I keep looking at your photos to see how you have done things. The tie off points on the plan are pretty weird so I've just put them where I think they look better.I'm getting a bit rigged out at the moment but most of it is done now, just the easy rigging to do now.
-
A bit more progress.I reefed up the foresail to cover the glue on the sail from my attempt to attach reef ropes.Quite a bit more rigging to do yet then attach anchors and other delicate parts.
-
Thanks a lot for your great comments,i'll try the stun sails as well.I lost a sail when we moved and another one has stains from glue on it from trying reef ropes but I may fit that yet.

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
