  1. Hmm. wonder if we can see a joint venture of Chris Watton and Chuck Passaro Chris, You mentioned Vallejo colors, are you referring to Boris Vallejo the amazing paint artist?
  2. Chris, I just opened up your build log of Victory and did it on page 3, Loved the open hull feature on the page. Then I started to think, wonder if you ever would make this kit as a pob/pof? Having one side open exposing all the interior? Like what AL did with Bounty? Victory is a fantastic ship all to be shown in all her glory. This build log of yours is amazing, and from now on following the last part of it. Very nice building!
  3. Controlled explosion would be the best solution, other options seem to be to risky. Even a controlled is very risky but has been done before. Interesting which way they are to take.
  4. Chuck, I don't care from where "their" blocks are coming from but its obvious "they" are not winner. Very nice finish Chuck!
  5. Harvey, the butcher paper I recall is brown. Walmart has the freezer paper cheap. Look for the Reynold brand.
  6. Tony, I like the ingenious ideas of tools you have created as well as the build of the Cutter. Looking real good.
  7. Brian, you are right regarding the model manufacturing itself. Information is coming from Royal Shipyard's website. The wood for their kits comes from HobbyMills
  8. Lauck Street Shipyard is celebrating 10 years and has a special going on right now, Fifteen books for only 300 dollars, this is a package deal that cannot be broken down, previous price for all of them 2200. Quite some savings and the Bounty is in this set.
  9. Smoking meat and ship modeling is very similar, both takes time and patients. Preparation and planning is key in both areas. I am glad you enjoy the new house and have a deck to sit on. I need a deck myself, for outdoor dinners but also being able to sit outside working on a model.
  10. Chuck, not only that the blocks and dead eyes look great, the prices are unbeatable. Especially handcrafted coming from you. Next time I need blocks or eyes I will surely turn to you.
  11. Jim, The software used to create this ship Pandora, is called SketchUp available in two version, free version and paid pro version. It's shallow learning curve but with a lot of advance features. I have used it for many years.
  12. Thanks for the tip, Have been thinking of how to do the lofting easier, this is great. Scratch built!!!
  13. Sjors, thank you for pointing it out, I liked the green color because it didn't stand out to much. It reads "Denial is futile, MSW 2.0 is here to stay." I will change the color.
  14. Sjors, I have been back since the change to V2.0, don't know what happened to my avatar. Had a combination flag of the American/Swedish as avatar. Thank you for pointing it out. Have a secret build going on as well.
  15. Floyd, I wish there was someway for us to help you with the pets, but our clan just expanded with another dog. Don't know if my son mentioned about him. One of the pet rescues called up (they know how successful we are with our homemade food, and long lifespan on the dogs), they needed a foster family for an overweight Beagle. I said no, Admiral yes, I lost even with the argument we have four dogs, two goats she can't be with (allergies)(her idea as well) and a kitty. When he arrived he weighed 85lb, within a week down to 77. Don't know his current weight. But he is great fun and a great snuggler. Hmm, I think I never seen a mobil workshop. There is a company making aluminium trailers (have one of their smaller one) so checked their website, they have a perfect fitting trailer to put a workshop on. All you need afterwards is a space for the trailer.
  16. My father once said, "you get what you are paying". Most of the time is so true.
  17. Oh my, Is this a setup? This is way to clean for a workshop setup, along with the kitty that sleeps so confidentially knowing she won't be disturbed. Love it though, wish I had something similar, with all Byrnes machines.
  18. Just to be careful and be light handed as usual when suing power tools and results can be amazing. Thanks for the tip!
  19. Dan, I really love the progress you have accomplished so far. I did a quick search for Swan 42 for sale, got three of them located in different areas around the world, A 1985 located in Newport, Rhode Island goes for USD 200.000.00 while another 2008 model located in France runs USD 364.000.00 I like the model better. Someday I will build a modern yacht model of some kind.
  20. Jerry, I was kind of confused, but somehow I had two of the same replies to you and upon deleting one the other disappeared as well. I am sorry for that. Still looking forward to hear about the final weight once completed.
