J-class Yacht by IgorSky - BOTTLE - scale 1/1000 - Finished

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone!

Another my mini project here ))

Some time ago my friends gave me the empty perfume flacon with the quite the unusual shape.

The shape of the bottle did not leave much choice for the type of ship, the model which could be placed inside. So this will be a model of the yacht J-class. This model does not have a specific prototype and it is a kind of generalized image of these beautiful yachts.

As usual, I am starting with making of the hull

Nice work, Igor.  I can't up with your progress!  You're moving ahead so quickly!

But I have started this project last Thursday (17.09.2015). ))

And I have not yet finished reading the emails since getting back from the coast.

Igor obviously there is not a lot of physical material involved in your work, but working at such a small scale requires extreme precision which is not something that I would think is a fast activity.

Amazing so far!

Michael

Hi Igor

Nice, as always. Can I pls ask a favour? Can you please show how you did the metal gooseneck on the boom? I never seem to get those sort of fixtures looking as good as yours and Captain Bob's.

If you could, I'd really appreciate it.

Cheers

Patrick

Aah, ok, thanks Igor!  I've heard you mention the syringes before, but I never thought about using them in this way.  I'll have to remember that one for the future.

Thanks and all the best!

Patrick

Hi Patrick!

Yes, the needles from a syringe are a source of the tubes the smallest diameter. Usually I am using the needles with the diameter of 0.3 - 1 mm.

Best Regards!

Igor.

Thank you Nils and Bob!

Nils, I built only several SIB about 15 years ago. Now I have only a couple of photos of my first SIB.

The first of my SIBs:

The second of my SIBs:

But in January 2015 I returned to the making SIBs again with this model - http://modelshipworld.com/index.php/gallery/album/1020-noname-yacht-in-bottle/

Now I have 8 completed models and 4 in progress ))

Best Regards!

Igor.
