Bruce; exercise great care if you've not used one of these saws before. My slip happened the first time I used one.

Noted. I have been a modeller since I was seven and have the scars to prove it.

All kidding aside, thanks to both for the heads-up. I am so used to the old saw I probably need a wake-up call. It is as blunt as a comb.

The trick is relearning how to saw again. Western saws definitely need a different approach to Eastern saws

No pressure is certainly the tactic, let the saw do the work. Start off on the right and square line and stick to it. They don't like changing course part way through.

One of the hardest parts I had to relearn was to fight the years of muscle memory pushing a saw with tension which is a certain way to damage any of these pull saws and easy to fall back into once you get into the rhythm

Finished builds are

1/35 Endeavour's Longboat by Artesania Latina

I just purchased a new phone galaxy A70 with 32mp camera, those pictures are a bit scary

I also removed all the guns from the quarterdeck as I wasn't happy with the colour, one carronade was very silvery and shiny, I reblackened them all and they are now all a similar and dark grey going on black

It has a great look, lots of visual impact. Would you consider mahogany a good wood for frames? I have a salvaged piano stool about 100 years old and intend to use the wood for a display base but wondered if it is worth the effort to use it as components in a model. Sorry if you covered this in an earlier post.

Sorry I dozed off on these replies. The saw arrived, I cut my finger, pushed when I knew I should pull, made every available mistake and still think the saw is the best way yet to cut wood..

Thanks Bruce, I like it, I believe some say the grain is a bit to large for the scale but when sealed and polished it looks fantastic like old furniture. I'm glad you like the new saw, they are awesome aren't they, Don't say Druxey and I didn't warn you 😁😁
