Sjors, hopefully locating the hole for the mizzen mast will go well. Good luck with this and keep posting so we can follow along closely. A little too early for me to be drinking beer but I have some coffee.

Morning Patrick,

Enjoy your animaatjes-koffie-70187.gif

The hole is drilled and the mast fits  :D

And you want a picture of course?

I shall make him for you.

Hi Grant,

I'm glad that I found it out now before everything is on the deck.

But very strange that you can find it any where on the drawings.

That's the main thing with drawings from Corel.

It is really terrible!

Patrick,

Are you at work right now?

I have to go in a few hours…..

From 16.00 hours till 01.00 hour.

The rigging stage can take a while before I'll be at that.

First al the decorations, gun lid ports (something like that) and a few other stuff.

Then of course all the masts and I have to look closely before I forget things.

It goes steady but is goes...

Good time to find that, Sjors!  Nice recovery.  Shall sit back now and enjoy the next scene whilst sipping a green beer in honor of St. Patrick's Day...corned beef and cabbage cooking and the wee folk (actually, both are now much taller than I) are reminding me of their Irish ancestry.  Ah, well...another quiet day at the shipyard!

Nice catch on the mizzen mast.  I guess the Mirage is bit too big to be a brig?

Now appears to have only one mast.  Maybe the masts are 'floating'  ..... I've heard some do this.

I think so Mark,

But I find it still strange that they " forget" it on the drawings...

Maybe there is a hidden lesson?

Look 10000 times at all the pictures and drawings before you do anything….?

It's not scary only you have to be careful with the drill  :)

I see that there is no picture which show you how she looks when she is finished.

So here it is…….

And what about the ratlines….I mean both vessels!

This is a great moment…..

The first update on the brand new MSW for the Le Mirage ( was there an old one then?)

After a few modifications on the bow at the port side I have placed the first decorations….

Shiny stuff!

It looks to me when this is finished, it's not a warship but a funny ship  :)

Here comes update nr 2.

Why they call it an long boat, I don't know but ok.

Attention please, beware those pictures are taken with an HD video camera so you really see everything!

When I see the pictures for the first time I thought, trow it away and make a new one…..

Now I'm thinking, ok, she is old so it not have to be perfect and smooth surface.

It looks now if she sails a few times  :)

Le Mirage is looking very pretty, Sjors.  The bow decorations certainly do make her look fancy!

The longboat came out well - nice job on the interior.  Don't sweat the planking - looks good when I look at the picture from a short distance!

Hello Sjors, :piratebo5:

Haven't browsed your log for quite some time now. My God, Now that is a very elegant looking ship you have there.

Keep up the good work, and be careful with the masts and rigging. Don't rush things, as the rigging dresses up the whole vessel.

Will keep on watching this log for sure.

Cheers

Looking real good.....I'm not sure with my old eyes I can see an HD effect in the pics.  Could you post side by side HD and non HD of the same thing for comparison?

Well done, Sjors!!!!!  Lots of gold decorations make her look formidable to the enemy.  You can scare them away ---- until they find out about the cotton cannonballs :P  :P .

Longboat looks great, much better on deck than sitting under the Dremel worktable.

She's shaping up!!!!!!!!

Hi Paul,

Thanks for dropping in.

The rigging can take a while before I can do that.

There is a lot of building left.

If you don't tell the enemy that I'm shooting cotton cannonballs they maybe afraid of me  :D

I have taken those pictures this way, so I don't got the question if I can put something beside it for the difference…...

But the longboat is already in storage.

She have to wait till I'm finished with the rest.
