That picture is incredible! It is so hard to believe that the model is 1/700!

but it’s a bloody good camera

I was thinking that as well, along with the person using it. You could probably give me a $10,000 camera and I couldn't take that good of picture at any size!

I suppose that the guy is using a builders model to point out the PE additions, that makes sense, but it looked like possibly all the things he was listing in the contents were brass colored in the pictures.

It's in a museum in the UK I think, I found  few images when I was researching this one.

Notice the shell holders near the cannons and the netting. There are a lot more pipes, and the real thing would also have a lot more voice pipes.

Could be 1/200  with all that detail.

The ready ammo is of course obvious but I can't find the netting or voice pipes even when I enlarge the bridge to the point of being grainy. I do find the double row of pilot house windows and wooden doors interesting though.

As requested Flying Dutchy ...

I sprayed the hull with clear gloss so I can fiddle with the decals, haven't put a decal on anything for 30 years ... that will be a challenge for a change ... the chimney sweep can come, since I do not have a replacement chain, I'll work with what I've been given for anchor chain. 3rd picture, you can see a blob in front of the range finder, which is the range finder control, missing in the kit ...

Paravanes ... a real pain in the brain (I shouldn't feel anything one might say ... or is it a no brainer ...)

Now, whilst Popeye and Cog finish up their builds (I'll put them in an album when finished) I'm researching my next build (Number 10) , BUT, the build after that Number 11)...

Who want to play with another joint build?

There is going to be an aftermarket set out for the kit later this year by the bloke who used to be at Pontos

As such it won't start for months, but it will be simple build and Cog is already complaining that I nag him too much so you all have to put pressure on him too.

thank you all for the likes and supportive comments, naturally but for one ... he's even threatening with thumb screws and the iron lady to force me in another modelpartnership ... he really is freightning like this ... glad Pat & Steven aren't like that, or I would think all Aussies are :o

By the way, I told him I would like to build the zeppelin ...

I won't say "Yes", but I won't say "No" either ... I have presently six builds on the desk including this one, 2 destroyers, 2 subs, a battleship, and an airplane - all plastic, so I won't be mixing up parts as long as I let them on the sprue, and no leave them on the desktop (no Lou, not the PC's), lucky me, but that doesn't mean I've got less brass bling tumbling through the air.

Yesterday evening (more like this morning) I finished the paravanes, added the decals - with the glossy hull that was easy peasy - erected another ladder for the gunplatform, replaced the asdics on the bridge's wings for the ones I initially made were far to big. Next thing is to paint the paravanes, and after that leaf through the instruction manual and check what I've done with what I really had to do, or planned to do, and compare with the remaining items on the sprues ... pictures later today

Thanks OC, after everything has been stuck onto her, she will get a final coat of clear mat laquer, after that I don't need to worry about damaging paint e.a.

What matt top coat medium will you be using - your own sprayer  or rattle can?   I am interested as I will be seeking to do a flat top coat on mt sub when its all finnished.

Looking great Carl

Your Captain keeps a much more tidy vessel than Greg's who has let his ship get run down to the point of almost becoming a rust bucket. Your guy must be a real Bligh? "What do you mean we are at war?" "No excuse!":D

No a Bling :P, unlike me

OC, I use a rattle can. I've tried the airbrush stuff, but that didn't turn out the way I wanted ... so I got my info, and bought meself a gloss and a matt clear laquer can from Vallejo. You have to get used to it, but whilst liquid, you can still "suck" some off with a paper hanky. I like the way the gloss turned out when you look at the stern in the first picture from this post

Not a chance! Most days I am only able to come up with 22 when presented with 2+2!

It has been a long time since we have had a PC in this house and to be honest I had forgotten the term when used out of context. All we have here anymore are laptops. Everyone in the family has their own. Plus a spare one upstairs for the Admiral and I. The kids have a couple of tablets as well but I'm not all that comfortable with them so pretty much stick with the laptop. Getting old and slow at keeping up with tech I suppose, dreading the day when I have to switch completely over to Windows 10 on the remaining computers. Since the Admiral and I are not gamer's we can get away with 7 on our computers.

Good on you, I still find it hard to remember what the '"+" is for, so I crash and burn after the 2

Since when is it that laptops do not have a desktop ...??? I'm a programmer, and will not use anything over Windows 7, i.e. if I really have to use windows, so I can relate to your sticking to a stable system. I shan't advise you on a newer OS. Keep what you feel comfortable with. Most changes are for the worst, despite the attempts to convince you of the contrary. Let's leave it at that, and stick to model building ... how's your plastic press (lbs or kgs?)
