My sentiments exactly LH

Although you never know on what track you are ...

Lou, haven't found any bonsai crew as yet, so I'll leave them as is for the time being ... most figures at 1/350 come in PE and are very flat ... not much real sailor body

Actually, these oerlikons are far better to deal with than the tripple AA's from Musashi, those really give me a bleamin' headache.

You could give these a try:

Or possibly these:

Thanks Denise ... saw in one of your logs you had a change of name ...? ;) appreciated. Tomorrow I'll make some time to prime some more parts, so I can fill the empty deck space ... whenever that will be ... work is waiting as well ...

Last modelling for this week I'm afraid ...

Everything aft of the funnel is still unglued. FIrst I need to get the rigging of the funnel done. After that add the forward davits and rig them, the rear funnel, and so on ... enjoy the view

I’m thinking of a torpedo boat after our next build

Torpedo boat as in WWII PT boat, or torpedo boat as in turn of the century pre destroyer type of ship?

Thanks for the likes and comments gents. As always greatly appreciated.

Lou, with reference to one of your previous posts concerning crew, thanks, but I'll think I'll stick to model masochism or PPEPP ... plastic, PE, putty, & paint ( I know I forgot glue and CA). Yes the third destroyer ... got another box waiting, but it'll have to wait a bit longer as there is SMS Seydlitz coming up.

Greg, interesting choice of ship. I, however, might start on the Arno XI I have gathering dust for over a decade and a half. A change in basic building material. Besides, winter is coming and airbrushing will get hard, wood makes for a nice alternative. Furthermore, I'll need to do some more PE on Musashi, which I've been postponing, in the knowledge I'll be getting headaches

Carl, get a good fitting breathing mask with chemical filters to reduce the CA fumes effects. Those inexpensive dust masks won't do much, but I use a 3M one and it helps with the CA, acetone and MEK fumes. You do have to replace filters occasionally. And maybe an exhaust fan, to reduce stress from the odors, with the rest of your household.

Ken,

I do not give a rats you-know-what about that. When you live , or lived for a long time in an urban neighbourhood with lots of (truck) traffic, you breath even worse fumes. Considering the time I lived in Rotterdam, I'd sooner die from that, than from CA fumes. Work gives me more stress than what CA can cause. So don't worry mate. Besides, when the time comes, it comes.

I got lucky Yesterday evening ... I did what OC needs a hand with ;) ... started rigging, in my case the funnel. Starbord side has been done as wel as rigging the davits on that side. Took me long enough ... two hours for four threads, hardly visible with the naked eye ...

Thanks for the likes & comments, as always, much appreciated

Had the oportunity to work on the model, can't say I retreated into the mancave as I sit at my desk, which has become a mixture between desk and work bench ... maybe I can CA my customer's problems ...

Finished rigging the funnels, need to rig one more set of davits, fitted the rear superstructure, and added the vents - those "H" shaped ones - I need to find some anchor chain for this scale and type of ship, as the ones from the kit are horrendous.

Right ... picsies:

Looking good Carl, especially the stack wires.

A couple of questions though.

Did you use the same line on the "H" stacks as you did on the funnels? And is the bent pipe looking thing aft to the rear funnel a vent, or a davit?

Looking forward to more progress.

Lou
