RCN H-class destroyer by cog - FINISHED - Trumpeter - 1/350 - PLASTIC

Hello Jo,

Thanks, it seems you pop up all over the place ;)

Actually not holding back, my back is holding me from it. A few more weeks of manual torture, and straining excercises, and I will be good to go. Good to have you join in the fun of screwed eyes and headaches ... You should have a go at one of these plastic & PE things sometime. All sorts of new tools you can buy :)

Hello Carl

That should read GIRLS and boys don't you think 🤣😈.

Did you hand paint the ship or airbrush it, nice work my friend.

Nice to see you back working on your build.

Nah, fat chance. You wanted to be treated like one of the boys ...

I painted the camouflage by hand, Lifecolor isn't really airbrush friendly paint, everything below the camouflage is painted with an airbrush.

Good to be back, although it will be at intervals

Nice to see you were able to do the work you hoped to get to Carl. Looks like you haven't lost your touch, the railings are all nice and straight and the jackstaff and flagstaff are just right.

Me thinks you need to get some spectacles, mate ... there is enough room for improvement on that wobbly line, an' please don't gimme that crap about being my worst critic ... on the other hand, most ironbuilds are fitted with the PE railings (but for RGL's) and those do look really artificial

There may be a bent railing or leaning stanchion here and there if you look hard enough but I wonder how the real ship looked after a few fast turnaround winter Russian  convoys, getting beat by waves higher than the ship and beating ice off of the upper superstructure with axes and hammers! That's to say nothing of coming along side a tanker and refueling and the possible damage inflicted to more delicate parts of the ship.

I still say she is looking as she should and that is good!:P

Thanks for the likes lady and gents (better watch them claws!)

Jo, you can get the pat ... this what you meant?

pat_cat.jpeg.9f21732ad1b6de683713923e53aeec45.jpeg

but sorry

No milk today my kat  is gone away
The bottle stands forlorn a symbol of the dawn
No milk today it seems a common sight
But people passing by don't know the reason why ...

Presently I am struggling with CA. It doesn't want to set ... bought some new tubes, same missery ... now I can't rig the masts as the yard on the aft tripod came off. Buggah!

Super glue that has turned into super goo? Have you tried gluing some spare stuff, (Not on the ship) and used accelerator?

Is the brass clean?  Sometimes they coat brass and nothing sticks to it.   Test by putting two small pieces into some acetone for a while and rinse, dry and see of the glue sticks.
