RCN H-class destroyer by cog - FINISHED - Trumpeter - 1/350 - PLASTIC

Recommended Posts

Mark, yes it was clean, I do not know if it still is after my spitting fit!

Greg, I was afraid you might come up with that solution ... darn, just got back, and I'm put on a waiting list, because of GLUE!!!

I had forgotten that the glue you are using has possibly sat around for a while waiting for you to get some time to work. If your weather has been on the warm side it could affect the glue like Greg. (It has been summer down in his neighborhood) To late to help your glue if that is the case but you might keep the new bottle in the refrigerator to make it last longer.

I also keep a bottle of this kind of stuff around:

https://www.amazon.com/Bob-Smith-151-Insta-Set-Accelerator/dp/B0000DD1QR/ref=asc_df_B0000DD1QR/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=309816945299&hvpos=1o1&hvnetw=g&hvrand=4073283092394412599&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9033347&hvtargid=pla-569647234929&psc=1

I don't use it all of the time, but sometimes it makes all the difference.

Hello

Greg is correct, I ordered two bottles of medium Zap, one was so thick it would not come out of the bottle the other one was Ok.

I sent the bad one back to the shop and they admitted it was an old bottle.

Aussie advice, now I have two advisors ... It seems that all the good stuff comes from downundah

maybe a silly question Mrs Cat, but what would you need Zap for on a wooden build? (just curious)

BSI is not sold here

That's not a happy situation.

I am lucky as I have a small hobby shop not too far from my house where I can buy. I like going there because even though it's a small store, they have a large turn over of their CA glue and it always seems fairly fresh. I tend to buy the smaller bottles for the same reason unless I am doing something where I am expecting to use a larger amount.

Got me glue from the UK, rigged the tub, but forgot to take a picture, added some depthcharge launchies (3D print). Tomorrow I need to laquer the hull with mat varnish, add the propellors, and that should be about it ...

Look great Carl, though it does seem to have list to the port side.  A bit of counter flooding needed? Man the pumps?  I'll get my coat....coat_32.png.a3a168eba154d0d49463b0d7cc76ea74.png

Thanks for the likes, and positive comments

Mark, she does ... very observant as it is hard to spot ... must have taken a hit or bumped into something piercing her hull ...I'll have the command issued, but you know, it may be to darn late mate

Yes! You may be  right @mtaylor. The other time building the brass nose of my bireme made me crazy... two days long could not put two pieces together, until I put them into acetone and then it became a piece of cake.

Jo, what a relief ...

Steve, the best is yet to come, big bronze props ;) ( I know, I will hardly be able to discern them from the rest of the build myself)

Most kind Sam. Very much appreciated.

Because of the expert you have become after your (seasickening?) cruise - with lots of adult beverages to sustain yerself, naturally -  you must be right.

Cheers
