Another purchase off eBay.  It’s obviously an older kit judging by the metal.

i thought it was amusing that in another purchase i found a model expo ad for this exact kit dated 1995...

The frames were pretty rough cut...and the drawings didn’t match each other very well.

I did my best to align them and get them close.

I then built them into the provided jig.  The instructions and plans are quite well written I think.

i flies the plan and jigs onto a build board.

I then put the frames in the jig and started putting some of the strips of wood that form the gun port and outline the stair well

The next step was to box out the gun port and stairs

I still have to trim the lip formed within the gunport

the plans show the stairs between frames 5 and 6 but the instructions and stair detail say 6 and 7...

So far its not too shabby.  I’m wondering what the sailer is doing, there is something under him that he is using a post to manipulate.  I’ll get the picture off the plan later...

I love it! This kit is just way cool and it looks like it pretty good quality materials. I'll be following along on your build. Who knows, I may just have to go shopping around for one of these... 🤨 BTW, I think you must be a Gold Medallion Member of eBay by now!

I actually purchased the full size version of this ship as well for a literal steal (under $200 including shipping!)....

anyways, inside the box was a Corel product brochure and I was amazed to see all the options for dioramas/cross sections.

also, please tell me what the rod in my diorama is representing...would it be the rudder??

How about posting a photo of your model kit collection. It might motivate me to add to my collection just as I've been thinking of downsizing! Seriously, I'd love to see them. I've never seen some of these Corel kits before.

That Wasa battle station in the advertisement is an interesting one that I learned of recently as well.

Are any of the parts labeled in the directions? Maybe that would give a clue.

redoing my master bedroom so yes I will certainly have a display area...I’ll also have to force some ships on family lol

So I ended up taking the one beam out due to the fact the gap between the deck boards was just too much.
i think after re-doing it was well worth it.

That's a really nice collection of interesting models. At your age you may be able to complete them all. At my age...well, the grim reaper will have done his thing before I could get through a quarter of them. Thanks for showing us your collection!

Don't urge me on...I'm actually considering selling a couple of kits. I think I'm in trouble though. I've been reading some of those non-ship build logs and admiring some of those plastic models that some of the forum members are building. They're doing some incredible work especially with the weathering and realistic painting. Now I'm starting to feel the pull of the "dark side" and I might have to mix it up my modeling a little.

BTW, your build looks great so far too.

Another big affirmative vote from me too. You're doing such a nice job and it would and another fine detail to the model. It got old simulating nearly 700 nails on my Medway Longboat but it sure was worth it in the end.

I have finished the bulwark planking over the gun port...tedious sanding but I think it can out nicely.

im starting to notice things on the plans that aren’t on the box photo (like an extra railing next to the stairwell).  I will have to look at my full-size Berlin plan.
