Same goes for me, too, mate.

Is it a bulb/lamp or is the whole gizmo kaput?

Sorry to hear that, OC.   What Edward said goes for me too.

Thought about it  (sitting the chair bit  watching rubbish tv)   "Nah  wont work"   I get too bored  - will have to find something else to do,    I have my aircraft spotting logs books  and  underline  reference books I could do for a bit  - I  have about 3 years worth of movements to cross check  from spotting in the back garden.

And some old aircraft RAW files I could re-re edit again on my laptop.

Its a  Two fillament strip light  that has a  bendy  tube that sits in a weight  and plugs into my extension lead,    It has been flickering  before starting for some time now, then this evening  it just flickered and went out,   I unplugged it took it in the kitchen (for light)  and found a few screws so I could open it up - rocker switch and power lead from mains  -  and a choke,   I fiddled with it  took the choke out - put it  back in, even took the element out (Two piece unit)  and put it back in,   there is some blackening at the power end of the element  (mind  you its old  - was second hand when I got it and that was a good few years back)   it tries to start keeps flickering  but wont.

Its a lottery as it could be  - the element, the choke or even the starter  or possibly all Three.

Time for a nerw one  me thinks.

Does your lamp, per chance, have a magnifier? The dimple in the middle, maybe? Or is it a the design feature? Almost never can have too much light. :D

I'm not sure you know,   but doesn't matter either way  as I have seperate magnification,   it looks tidy  - no leads  apparently  recharges off an internal battery  from a USB  lead.

bad break on the light issues......looks to me like you were on a roll!  that is the type of light that I have on my main table.....I don't like it.  I want to set up a crane light {or even two} because it's easier to replace a bulb,  than a florescent tube.

sorry to hear of your issues Ken......hope a remedy is in the works for you  ;)

Evening all, from over here in the UK  - Happy late Christmas,

Right the day was done  -   I cooked a naked Christmas Curry  (Turkey-less)   with Rice and Naans, then we had a  mince pie each,  then sat down to watch the repeats on the tv,    then I spent  Five minutes on the work table  -  I moved the Five figures I am working on  from left to right and back again  - thats it.

Might move them round again tomorrow  - if I feel up to it.

All the best my  friends/muckers/on-lookers/posters  and genuinly  everyone who puts up with me:cheers:

Just done this  -  its the actual ground plan of my dio  when I build it, its taken from the actual  over head scene of how La Haye Sainte looks today, it shows the boundary dictated to me by how much room I have, the gray patch  lower front is the gracel roadway, the rear is chopped off loosing the width of the buildings and roofs  but will  still have a false wall.

Hope it makes sense?

Nice present, OC. Savor every sip, brother.

As to the farm, the back side looks like it could be a photo backdrop, if you keep it as square as your picture.

You may want to run the front at a shallow angle to draw interest to one corner or the other, but you then need to build up one of the  back buildings as a flat of maybe an inch deep on the end closest to the viewer. I hope that makes sense, mate.

I  have a side board  it got to sit on  so I'm controled size wise by that, to have doen the dio I would have liked to would have taken roughly a 5foot square  board, but thats a no no.

I  have a few ideas for the layout (movement of figures etc)  dictated by what stage in the battle I do.
