WOW! Looking at all that rubble in the early pictures it is clear that you had a major remodel in mind! Congratulations on the tower re-do it is really looking nice. Looks like it went much faster as well.

Good evening everyone

Day 18 rebuild

the back wall is now going back in

played around with the louvre/shutters on the bell openings, not as much done as wanted, life keeps getting in the way

tonight i was given a lecture on the east/west orientation of churches, and what side the access to doors should be in relation to that , lots to learn, but if you read/trust wikki churches were built/rebuilt in what ever space was given to the building

not sure if i should redo the walls  now or just do better on the next unit

Love the tower rework, Kevin.   As for the orientation question.... do what you want unless there's some compelling reason to do otherwise.

having finished the church for now, time for something else

day 1 water mill

like last time no plans just trying to keep to a scale of 1/87

i have an idea of how i want it to look, a building above a stream with a top fed water supply, 3 levels above ground lever, with a canopy over the water pit

so bear with me, and im open to suggestions as always

Kevin, looks like a good idea. I built a wood grain mill kit for a garden layout (1/24 scale or some such) with a water wheel. 👍

Good evening everyone

mill day 2

although day 2 i was messing about with other bits to try and work out what i am trying to achieve, if i do ever give up on this project, its not due to ideas, more to the fact, i dont have much of a plan on where I want to go with it

the river wall is coming on ok, the wooden piles fitted in ok, was happy with the mill tonight but i took the windows out again as they were over sized, intention are now to have a another building at right angles to this one through which the water supply will pass, and a warehouse to the right for some sort of boat loading by the steps

Does the water flow from the left or the right?
The current shouldn't be interrupted by a boat at the quay, right?

The river will flow left to right passing the mill, i am creating another bridge that will span this new aspect

the mill has a separate water which then flows into the river, so at present,

good evening everyone

where did the water come from, well the new bridge has helped decide that, and with the continuation of the walls i am getting an idea new of how this expanding project id going, lockdown completes im thinking the UK lockdown will end in March, thats when i will return to the Dorade

in the photos it all looks a bit silly, but there is no real perspective yet, or indication of scale
