Giving my figures a small break  and changing subjects  I have decided to drag this out of my old stock, its been sat in the cupboard for a couple of years - but I decided it would make a nice pre christmas build.

The history behind this build is  -  where the admiral and myself used to live , we were on one of our first walks through the countryside when all of a sudden a low fast jet blasted over our heads just a couple of hundread feet above our heads, it really impressed the admiral  and was the first fast jet she had seen.

So on with the pics of the kit and an internet photo of the actual Jet.IMG-0980.jpg

I knew German immigrants created the American hamburger, naming it after their town in Germany, what I did not know until I looked it up was that it evolved from frikadella.  In fact the way I make mine is close to theirs. I make mine using dry Lipton brand French Onion or Onion Mushroom soup mix with 2 lbs of 80-20 ground beef.

German immigants also created  the Zweigles  brand hot dogs pictured above, which btw can only be found within a 50-75 mile radius from Rochester NY, unless you can find a Wegmans grocery store near you.

Happy grilling my friends.

Evening all,  so it begins  -  starting with the cockpit/instrument panels, with the kit are some pe panels  and not bad looking either, I did however order the  pe update set   from Airwaves, but to be fair  I had not looked at it  for a good  while  - well years to be honest,  and I found they were some considerable  size  Way too big to fit, I had to look at the packaging  to make sure they hadn't sent out the 1/32 scale ones, nope 1/48  but for a different kit not the Italeri  - but I was able to do a bit of "Cut and fit"  using a mixture of both.

The front panel  I will sand slightly around the edges.

I started with the panels as I said these fit perfect,  thay have the cut outs for the dials  - so I thought  paint black behind all over  and stick the pe panels down to this,  so  I decided to use the Vallejo Primer (Black)  and  instead of trying to glue them down after  - I stuck them down onto wet paint  then forced dried them - "Yep they stuck"   but  I will dab some gloss clear coat into the  dials after painting the face of the panel, this should help secure them,   I then started fixing down the side panels  -  I have no ca glue at the moment  but "No worries"  as I used my revell pro plastic glue,  I have found if I get it warm it melts the pe down onto the plastic  and it does stay there ok.

So  its a start.

Evening all,    more progress  - alot of time spent this eve for very little done,   firstly I painted over the face of both panels  and "Yep"  the inevitable  happned  - the grey seaped into the Black dials,  so after the coats of Grey was on the  fronts  I then used my finest brush and dropped some pin prick size drops of Black into the holes for the dials,  it wasn't 100%  a success but good enough  as the canopy is going to be down,   I set these aside to dry and turned my attenton to the Tub  - this had its back panel fixed  then some Grey layers, then a small amount of shading,  after I glued inplace the panels, and finished off with a bit more shading and some highlighting.

Not brilliant but will be mostly hidden so I'm not too worried.

I am putting this one on hold also    as trying to do this is  impossible  due to working with what I have at the moment  (no super glue)  so I have managed to wreck my bang seats trying to glue down pe using revel proffesional  contacta glue  - abit like  trying to inflate tyres with water.

Oh well thats Two on hold    at least my  soldiers are  simple and need no super glue.

Lesson learned brother, in the future, Canopy glue, (white PVA) makes a good substitute for CA, especially for panels with large surface area.... Like CA, it doesn't attack the plastic....
